Description
This is Mr. Pickles. He is a Devon Rex and quite a neat little kitty far as I'm concerned. This one was a very small painting - took 2 hours total. PHotoshop 7, wacom intuos2, working from 2 reference images. I actually did not use a brush for fur on this one.Related content

Most of my work these days are commissions of people's pets - and ravens aren't a common pet - but I would enjoy painting one I am sure. I'll have to hold on to that thought and try it sometime in between commissions. It would be cool to get away from all of the fluffy/sugar/cute stuff I keep getting asked to paint.

$50 for a digital 8x10 @ 300dpi (They print out very nicely at poster size which is what people usually do with them). I do small ones for free once in a while but they won't print on anything much bigger a 5x7.

Well I don't have to do a lot of thinking about poses and colors and lighting becuase all that is there in the reference image (unless the client asks for a new pose - then the pictures take quite a bit longer).

I painted it on a 4x6" square in photoshop and it took about 2 hours total I think. (I never time my pictures exactly - I should do that sometime)
