Many references, actually I had one image reference for the pose, several for harnesses and how they work on the dogs, and each dog was painted to look like someone's pet, so I got seperate photos for the coloring of each dog. And a seperate folder of aurora refs

The bests artists generally do use references. Whether they admit it or not

^.^ but i do think it would be pretty awesome to draw that well from your mind. sometimes there just aren't references for what you're drawing.

Absolutely! The featured painting up there didn't have any refs (the painting of Anna and Bailey) but generally I do try to do research before doing a piece. Tsunami (the blue character that's in my icon) also didn't have any references). It can be done, and it is fun. But when I'm being paid, I try to be as precise as possible It just takes a little imagination which you probably have

Absolutely. I do one painting a day, pretty much. Sometimes, if I skip a day, I'll do two the following day. So that is the only real reason I'm good. I've been kicking my own butt on this lol. Any artist has the potential to blow right past me and be three times as awesome

Thanks This one's for Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue auction and I hope it gets them some of the help they need. It was nice to do something a little different. Still dogs, but full bodied action shots instead of headshot after headshot

XD not yet, I started a few layers got to the huskies and had a block from there XD but I plan on finishing it some day O.O
