...Visser Three has turned on the ship's dramatic light, it seems. cx

Surprise! This is for all of you who have expressed the wish for more Animorphs comic pages. I had the sketch for this page lying around, and thought I'd ink and color it now as a treat for you. Thank you for all your past and present support. c:
It's been two years now since I last drew a page, and I still don't believe I'll ever continue this comic, because of other priorities. Perhaps another page will appear in another two years. Who knows. x)

Was fun to get to draw hork bajirs and taxxons, though I guess I could have been more creative with their designs. If you want to see some really animorphs creature designs, check out lackofa 's amazing ones, like for example: BAJIR

I love the way you drew Elfangor. Despite his somewhat muscular appearance on the covers, I think Andalite arms are usually supposed to be much thinner and weaker, like the way you drew them. There are only a very few Andalites who look almost as muscular as a human, like Gafinilan or other warriors who put a lot of work into their appearance. I always imagined Elfangor having a more elegant, refined appearance.

Yeah, I remember reading about them being less heavily built than humans. c:

Aaaaaand here is where our concepts stop matching. (I always imagiend Hork Bajir like something close to this:orig15.deviantart.net/51cb/f/2… but with blades and not THAT much bulk, but some bulk)
And it's also where the comic stops apparently. :/

But shit, I love that you made it so far!

CamishArt In reply to GolliatTaillog [2016-08-09 15:01:27 +0000 UTC]

I guess my concept of them was heavily influenced by the book covers 'x) Your's is cool though!

And yeaah, sorry about the comic suddenly ending like that! o: I haven't drawn it for years, I stopped having time for it after going to university. Maybe sometime I'll continue, I do miss it.

But anyway, thank you! I'm happy you liked it! C:

Ooooo a continuation! ! Nicely done, especially with the emotions, perspectives, and designs . I really wish this series was animated since live action would need to be costly (at least in my opinion) to do it right. Did you ever play the video game? I dunno if it was good or not XD.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CamishArt In reply to AnonTheDarkOne [2015-06-25 22:38:27 +0000 UTC]

Yup! Thanks a bunch, that means a lot to me c:
Me too, I always thought that the special effects in a live action movie/show would have to be pretty darn good (aka expensive) to make justice to these books o: An animated movie or show could be really amazing...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnonTheDarkOne In reply to CamishArt [2015-06-25 23:11:18 +0000 UTC]

Yasvmw . Exactly! For example, Game of Thrones is a live action adaptation of a book, but each season is only 10 episodes long for a reason. The use the "extra" money from having shorter seasons for the special effects, cinematography, actors, writers, editing, etc. so, at least visually, the show is great. Hmm seeing that they have over 50 main story books, I'd say a series. They could make a movie (or series of movies more like it), but it would probably be based on the Megamorph and Chronicle series. Although, it would be cool if they did the two "choose your own adventure" books as actual video games. They would be short, but they could be an add-on for one of the movies when it comes out for DVD.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CamishArt In reply to AnonTheDarkOne [2015-06-29 11:23:59 +0000 UTC]

Agreed! Cramming fifty books into a movie or even a series of movies just isn't possible cx So a movie would be based on one or a few of the books, not all. A show with the whole book series would be amaaazing, though! I'd buy a video game based on the whole series, too O: Turning into animals and battling hork-bajirs and taxxons... It could be cool xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnonTheDarkOne In reply to CamishArt [2015-06-30 03:15:11 +0000 UTC]

Yep yep . I know right? They could get around 100 episodes with a series like that (if they are an hour long). Well, there were 3 games for Animorphs at the height of it's popularity. Animorphs: Know the Secret (PC), Animorphs: Shattered Reality (Playstation), and Animorphs (Gameboy Color). All of them seemed to be bad though . That being said, if they revive the series as a TV show (whether it's live action or animated), there could be an opportunity for a better game. The book series had a 2nd edition but was cancelled after the 8th book because of low sells (the covers were kind of hit and miss in my opinion).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CamishArt In reply to AnonTheDarkOne [2015-07-25 17:48:19 +0000 UTC]

I hadn't even heard of any of those games before xD Probably because I was too young at the time, but I can believe that they weren't very good. That seems to be a common aspect of most non-book Animorphs stuff so far cx
I remember that second edition! I bought the first seven books of it, because I wanted english versions. (I have almost all the books in the main series, but all in Norwegian x3 ) I was rather disappointed that they cancelled it, not because I exactly loved the new covers either, but because I wanted younger kids to have the chance to read them. And then Animorphs could have been popular again, and we'd get the movie or series we all wanted. But alas, it was not to be. x)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnonTheDarkOne In reply to CamishArt [2015-07-25 18:07:19 +0000 UTC]

Lol maybe, but to be fair I only knew of 2 of them because my brother had a subscription to a video game magazine, so the games weren't well known otherwise. I know right? It feels like a fan has to make a non-profit fan film/web-series to get it done right XD. Looks like there are some on Youtube that I'm going to check out later.

Aww man, if I knew that earlier, I could have sent you the first 10 Animorph books from the 1st edition. I volunteer at this bookstore from time to time and they used to have the first 20 books (with none missing) and most of the first 10 books had doubles. That's not the case anymore though . There are almost no more Animorph books there now. Hmm maybe if they somehow get a comic book, fan series, official series, etc. off the ground and it becomes popular again, than they will make a 3rd edition (or continue the 2nd edition). Game of Thrones is a great example of that. Sure the series was popular in general before the show came out, but it's popularity jumped A LOT just from the first season. Book sales went up along with the popularity of the series, so they made new editions and box sets. Heck, you'd be super lucky to find the series in the bookstore I volunteer at that isn't already reserved  (Although I was lucky and got all of the current books there besides the first one that was given to me by a friend). I hope they figure out something though. Who knows, if Animorph does become an awesome series again, they may do other works by her such as Remnants and Everworld.

CamishArt In reply to AnonTheDarkOne [2015-10-16 19:54:46 +0000 UTC]

Ok, so I was planning to reply to this eventually, and suddenly the months passed by x3 ...Better late than never, right? cx

Heh, well that explains you knowing about them! The games were probably never released in Norway, so my chances of hearing about them were small. cx Did you find anything good on YouTube? : )

Aww, that would have been a very nice thing of you to do! But alas, you couldn't have known before I told you. Sounds like a pretty great bookstore to volunteer in, though! Probably not so strange that there are almost no Animorphs books there anymore... I don't think there's any Animorphs books in any bookstore in all of Norway anymore x3 Gotta buy them used from people, here cx

Yeah, something has to happen for the books to gain attention again, that's for sure. I will continue to hope for an awesome series to happen. cx
I never got to read the Remnants or Everworld stuff, is it any good? :3

AnonTheDarkOne In reply to CamishArt [2015-10-16 21:31:48 +0000 UTC]

It's all good dude, I know you are busy .

Probably not since it looked low budget. No, sorry, nothing really stood out from the videos I came across on youtube. If you come across anything feel free to share .

That's true . It is pretty good. They have A LOT of books. Seriously, way too many books XD. I wish people would buy more books there....Yeah, it's rare to find the 1st edition unless you are in a used book store like the one I volunteer at.

Same here! Well I've only read the first book of Everworld, but I liked what I read (need to read it again). Remnants is a bit twisted/dark at times and I'm a bit surprised they still kept it as juvenile/pre-teen series (at least one library did) since some of the content was dddaarrrk and pretty descriptive. I could be overstating the scenes though. Anyway, if you like Animorphs I think you will like the other 2 series, they are just WAY shorter. Remnants is I think around 14 books while Everworld is around 7 I think.

CamishArt In reply to AnonTheDarkOne [2015-10-18 09:20:03 +0000 UTC]

I will, if I do!

Too many books sounds good to me Cx

Hm, I'll have to check them both out at some point! I can imagine Remnants being dark, there's a surprising amount of really dark and/or gory books for juvenile audiences out there. o: Animorphs itself wasn't exactly all sunshine, either. cx As for the lenght, I guess not all series can be sixty-something books long x) And that's probably for the best.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnonTheDarkOne In reply to CamishArt [2015-10-18 19:26:05 +0000 UTC]

Thanks .

Lol I know it's unlikely, but if you are ever in the area and end up at that book store, bring like $100 so you can get like 50 books XD.

I hope you enjoy them . Ah, that's true, like the book that described Jake (as a tiger) spilling his guts out because of an Hork-Bajir (spelling?) injury. That's also true, less "fluff" that way, but yeah pretty short compared to Animorphs. I think K.A. Applegate only fully wrote about half of the books while the other half (or less) were written by ghost writers (based of her outlines or something similar).
