That's what critiques are for. They tell the person what they are doing wrong and how to fix their mistakes. Going and telling people their art sucks, does not help them improve in the slightest. Also people with no art at all in their galleries (including you) really have no say.

It can, because if they get compliments on their art, it motivates them into doing better. I can see your side too, because if someone gets compliments all the time, they will start to believe that they already are good and don't have to improve anymore.

This coming from the person who just dissed a picture. I just think everyone deserves a little recognition once in a while. Even if their art is horribly bad, seeing improvement and telling them you see improvement is a good thing. If you tell someone they are improving, they will want to improve more. Theres also enough bullshit, people have to go through in school so they don't need more bullshit on the one place that is escaping the world. I've graduated, so I couldn't care less.

Yeah there is some idiots that my theory doesn't work on, especially Mary Sues and Gary Stus, but I have seen it work on some people. So my theory is not garbage, it just depends on who it is.
