Depends on the the source. This one took me only 2 hours, but some take up to 8 hours with everything

Well it does certainly have its advantages? What you runnin on? Spark Batteries? Personally I prefer the Radiation Engine but that's just me.

If you got the chance to pick you should definitely go with the RAD engine. its really nice since it makes you immune to radiation since it all gets absorbed for power. its especially good for us cyborgs with built in weapons, AER rifles are great for snipers and plasma is better for those who like up close and personal combat. A proton sword is also good for melee. Personally I have a Tri-Beam AER rifle. Basically its like a big ol' laser shotgun! Fun!

Well the metal eating is more of a default thing. You wont last long if you can't repair yourself! While it may be cleaner the RAD engine actually uses radiation for power with no byproducts so it also helps weaken the radiation in the area as well! Blackjack can keep her fancy schmancy gem eating!

bah radiation tech is new, it produces undiscovered by products. as well if your not in a irradatide area u will have power problems. If your in a intense raditation area your normal parts will ghoulifiy. u would have to stay in a mild to high area for safety. Crystals and gems u can get anywhere with bottle caps.

New? I'v been using this tech for the past 5 years! Red Eye practically stole my designs! And of course I would have a backup power supply. Its not like solar panels where once it gets dark they shut off! My power stores have atleast 3 days worth of power storage.

5 years is new compared to using gems for energy, What do u think supplies the energy for dragon fire and energy weapons. crystals that what. Now rad power would be good for cyber ghouls, alicorns, and hellhounds, but any self respecting normal pony or dragon would want gem power.

Yes well. In the wasteland which would be more beneficial? Plus my RAD engine actually protects me from radiation as well. Any radiation exposure is pulled into the generator making me effectively radiation proof. Despite being new in comparison 5 years was long enough to determine whether any problematic by-products it has. Which there are none!
