I wanted to draw Catwoman. however I can not decide out of her billion incarnations which I like the most. so consider this a composite brought to you by ~celluloid-dreamer and myself.In my humble opinion Catwoman should always be black...not fail Halle Berry black but sexy Eartha Kitt black.
... yea that's the stuff.
anywho, in case it's not obvious enough this is the identity (or secret identity?!?) of the woman in this picture.
BUT WHO IS SHE WITH!?... I'll follow that up at some point with another picture. or maybe I'll cheat and make ~celluloid-dreamer do it. I'm never sure.
I'd also like to go on record stating that this is the most unnecessarily elaborate background I've ever done for the sake of "fan art." but hopefully it's a step in the right direct for the future of my backgrounds in general.

I must say I though Halle Berry was pretty as Catwoman, but yeah it was an ass movie. I never saw the older Batman though, but she looks gorgeous as her! Like you said, black Catwoman is the most fierce!

I really like your take on BATMAN CHARACTERS since they have so many different outfits, people, incarnations and are practically like Madonna when it comes to redesigning themselves.
I really like both black and white versions of Catwoman, and both have their ups and downs actress wise. I REALLY dig your fan character, which is WEIRD since I'm normally trollface about them, with anyone. Maybe I'm just bias since I am a faggot for Catwoman.
Loving the shading, but be careful with the shading around her breasts. I dunno, its very strange looking. Also the textures in this are a bit unfortunate, as the brick wall thing just looks like poor perspective with a brick picture underneath. Anatomy wise? I'm really digging it, I'm also fascinated by this new Batman character project thing you have going on. Loving her booty, and FACE SHAPE. Oh god! Its so round I love it <3 The feet are really bleh, ESPECIALLY the one thats cropped a bit. That one is really bad :< Regardless, I can't wait for you to reveal the ginger kid, although he's probably the Riddler or some shit. I KNOW YOU.

it's true you could re-design batman characters into oblivion as long as they have the key elements that makes them tick.
Does this qualify as a fan character? since it's still cat women composed of various versions of her. I always thought of fan characters as "new" OCs made to accent existing bob kane characters (daughters of Joker and sons of two face ETC) I didn't really want to shade this at all, I had a very lackluster attitude about it until I got towards the end (I feel like it's time wasted if I spend so much time on pictures that are just fan art) so admittedly the shading is not my best.

I agree her cropped foot is terrible, I figured I could fix it in the coloring- not exactly but I'll watch that next time.

Admittedly, Im biased on things Catwoman related, especially those that give light to the 1990's era outfit she wore (when Jim Balent was working on the comics). Still, I like the touch on the boots. Coloring her suit is difficult. I always imagine it as some sort of latex garment rather than cloth so I always try and keep it shiny looking. Still, latex is probably not practical in actuality, as sexy as it is.

Nice job on the background. Even though thought of trying to draw buildings and architecture is enough to tire me out; I donβt know how comic book artists can do it for panel after panel.
I donβt have much of an opinion on what race Catwoman should be, but if she looked like this, I definitely wouldnβt complain. Eartha Kitt wasnβt my favorite, but I didnβt like how they made her more straight up evil and lost the quasi-romantic relationship that Julie Newmarβs character previously had with Batman, though that was more the fault of the time period the TV show was made, as implying there was something going on between two characters of differing races was considered somewhat taboo back then.

My Opinion on Eartha kitt may be bias, I love her music, her sense of humor, she was the first catwoman I was ever exposed to on top of that halle berry gave the idea of a black catwoman a bad reputation. plus I personally think batman's rouges gallery could use a little more color (hell, most comic book rouges gallery could use more color)
it's true, I was really bummed that they downplayed her and batmans love/hate relationship when Eartha took the role. I think if that went down today it would have ended MUCH differently. Catwoman was never meant to be a flat out villain she was suppose to be the grey area.

she was perfect for the role, because shes INSANE!!! she was a revolutionary for women of her time! and I love her for that! Charisma oozed out of her every pore!
Getting Catwoman to "stand out" was a lot of trial and error, I wanted to keep the sky and city scape as red as possible, much like the "night time" effects in the animated series & The Baman, but I also wanted to make her catsuit more of a pinkish purple like in the 1992 comics, it took me a lot of tint fooling around before I came to the conclusion I was going about it all wrong trying to change the sky! instead of trying to make it less red, I should have tried to make her more blue, I swapped out the pinkish purple for the blueish purple ( my favorite type of purple BTW ) and the picture instantly improved! trial and error is my BFF.

LOL I have the same problem, when I do draw backgrounds I end up recolouring them or the foreground a few times to try and make them balance! But the background here looks gorgeous, it makes me think Catwoman is in a streets of rage style videogame
