It is indeed. Not only are they disrespected by other Darkens, remember how it felt to die, and scared of it happening again, but they also live with the chance of killing the people they love. (This forces many to run away from their loved ones.)

Luckily, they can be switched back by a Life n' Death Soul Guardian. (Though, most of the time, they kill them selves before they get any help.)
