My Monster of The Week hunter, Ethan. Background: The Monstrous.
Ethan is a 32 year old dirty punker, and has a pet opossum lovingly named 'Spike'. He lives with Spike in a small apartment in the center of the city Beacon Hills. He's lived there his whole life, and even went to Greenfield High School. Oh, and he's a werealligator, and can turn into a 6.5' tall 700 pound anthro alligator. But it's very painful (and messy), and he only does so if forced to. His weapon of choice is a katana, and he can shapeshift into a rat or a seagull. He often uses the city's sewer system to get from A to B, and has a sort of side hustle where he just helps the other people in town with various odd jobs. Whether it be moving furniture, mowing the lawn, or finding a lost pet. He'll take about any job as long as it pays.

Backstory: One day, as Ethan was travelling through the sewers, he happens upon a spunky, redheaded girl who insists that he is a monster and must be disposed of. Ethan tries to rationalize with her (she was right of course, but he did not really feel like dying that day), but she will not listen and is set in her ways. But then, like lightning from a clear sky, a strange man comes running with a horde of wild raccoons chasing after him, distracting the girl as Ethan makes his escape.
A few days later all three of them just so happen to meet again, at an underground meeting for concerned citizens that have noticed the peculiar instances that keep happening in town. In fact, they are the only ones attending, and together they agree to form a team of monster hunters. Although the redhead, named Gwen Hillway, only agrees to work with Ethan reluctantly, as she is still convinced he is one of the same monsters they hunt.
The unlucky, grumpy, disheveled man that ran from his life (chased by raccoons), is named Wally. And Wally has a curse; he cannot leave Beacon Hills. Every time he tries to do so, something weird always happens that prevents him from leaving the city border. Roadwork, a car accident OR raccoons. (Wally also has a crush on Ethan, but Ethan is too oblivious to notice).
Gwen is a nerdy, chaotic (possibly autistic), loud-mouthed teen that goes to Greenfield High. She doesn't really have a lot of friends, and uses all her spare time to solve the mysteries of Beacon Hill - with little success so far. Definitely the, unintentional, class clown of the group (her player cracks us up all the time).

And together the odd trio start hunting monsters, and slowly unravel the mysteries (and history) of Beacon Hills.
