After six months of grueling work, Gordon and his HEV suit are some semblance of done! I finally got to take the whole kit out for a spin at Polycon 2019 and I’m blown away by the reactions to my work and how fulfilling it was to step into the shoes of my favorite character of all time.

This is probably the hardest build I’ve ever tackled and performed in. That being said, it’s also the most fulfilling to wear — I feel so confident and badass as Gordon! Every inch of my body is sore from this monster, but interacting with other fans and seeing their faces light up when they recognized who I was made it all worth it! This is a costume I’d wanted to tackle for some odd nine years now, and some part of me feels so gratified to have had the stones to complete it.

I'm so immensely humbled by the massive display of skill I witnessed at this year's cosplay contest, and I'm even more honored to have been among the winners. This marks my first cosplay achievement, and not only that, but as an intermediate competitor as well! For those that don't know, I am by all accounts a beginner at my craft despite my years of experience. This build was one huge experimental labor of love and I'm glad so many people enjoy it! I'm blown away by the amount of love and support my work has received, and I can't think of a more fitting convention to have scored my first win at.

My heart is so full and I want to thank everyone for supporting my crazy ideas. It means the world to me and I'm happy I can create content that makes you guys smile! I wasn’t able to snag many pictures of the suit due to how taxing it is to move around in, but rest assured that it’ll be getting far more usage ( and updates! ) in the future months to come!
