My 2nd theme for Windows Vista. Your system must be capable to support Aero engine to use this theme.
This release includes:
New visual style
Windows Media Player Mod Skin(file version 11.0.6001.7000 )
Shell32 SP1 (top shellstyle & control panel left image)
Take Ownership
Uxtheme Patch For SP1

does not look right on vista64 at all.

Get this to work mostly on an x64 machine using ~blankpinoy 's tweaks, at least the msstyle. I don't use wmp so i didn't try that.

Doesn't work. My files work fine with every other VS, except this one. Perhaps giving it a simple .theme file would make things easier.
What a shame, it looks nice, better than any I've seen, and it can't work. :/ Hopefully you fix this and make it user-friendly.

Another one, if you have themes like this that has no .theme in it, you can copy the existing aero.theme.
Sample, new theme named Spiderman. Put the theme in windows\resources, then copy the aero.theme to spiderman.theme. Open it with notepad and change this part
[VisualStyles]
Path=%ResourceDir%\Themes\Aero\aero.msstyles
to
[VisualStyles]
Path=%ResourceDir%\Themes\Spiderman\spiderman.msstyles
Drawback is, when you are selecting themes, they will all have the name "Windows Vista".
This is all the workaround i have until we know how to properly use this theme.

ok, i got it to work but i don't think it's supposed to be like this way. I renamed Aero folder to Aero-Orig, then renamed the whole THEME folder from Aero Static to Aero. I renamed the msstyle file to aero.msstyle and the mui file under en folder to [link] . I suppose that did it but i dont think it should be done this way.

i think you do not understand what the issue is for those who are having problems with this theme.
When you choose Personaliza -> Themes and we browse for themes, the only files we can select are *.themes, which this package is missing. I am able to apply other custom themes, because they come with a .theme file.
So can anyone help us out? i've tried the rename to aero static, but without the .theme file, my vista is unable to "see" the theme.

I had it installed and it looked great, then I installed IE8. The text color on the tabs is white, which looks terrible. Can I change the text color in ie for my own personal use, and if so how do i do it. I need the text to be black and the theme would be perfect. I Love this theme, I have been using it for months.

Okay folks....for those of you having trouble, here's how you do this:
extract the "THEMES" folder to "C:\Windows\Resources".
Rename the "THEMES" folder to "aero static".
Open the just renamed folder, then rename the Windows Visual Style File "aero_static" to "aero static". Now open the "en-US" folder, and rename
"aero_static.msstyles.mui" to "aero [link] ".
You should be golden; apply the theme and enjoy.

yeah, a walkthrough would be prime. I almost think that the patch is glitchy, or some computers just wont recognize the .msstyle file

wtf. Reinstalled the patch, put the THEME folder in the other theme folder, that didnt work. Tried taking the shell file and the aerostatic file out of the THEME folder, and put them into the theme folder, still no dice... This skin must just hate me, but im still determined to get it

I also installed the vista Glazz dodad. From my understanding this is supposed to do something with the .msstyles because apparently Vista only looks for a .Theme

To apply the theme can I just open the THEME folder, pull out the "Shell" and "aero_static" files and put them into the "Themes" folder?

Aight, big ol problems. Downloaded, and unzipped to my desktop. Dragged the theme folder into the correct spot, didnt work, tried renaming the files, didnt work. Then I went ahead, applied that crack, even tho it was in french or whatever, and retried putting the files in the theme folder into the correct spot. still no luck.

This doesnt work for me too!
I get the same message as "Hispa".
All other themes I downloaded work fine and imo this is by far the best looking visual style and it doesn't work for me.
Any tips?

Frustrated am trying to download the aero engine but i cant do it, i install it and everything goes fine until i restart my pc, when i starts again is like nothing happen i dnt see aero anywere, can someone help!!!??
