This is a Christmas present for my brother and his GF. They only live next door to us, lol. Tess was their dog. She had to be put to sleep in June because of a nasty womb infection that spread to her kidneys. She was about to turn 10 years old. I was the one who bred her, she is the younger sister to Jess and daughter to Mist, my two dogs.The background on the second study up doesn't photograph very well, it looks horrid in photos. The grass looks thick and cloddy. Oh well. Not the best photo anyway, I had to take it indoors because it's dark outside at the moment. It was after midnight when I finished it.
A3 in size and done in mixed media including acrylic, watercolour pencil, coloured pencil, black drawing pen and some graphite. The paper is fabriano hotpress, 140lbs.

A terrible situation, and though it is years later from your posting date, I am sorry for your loss. Each and every one touches us profoundly. This is a beautiful homage to a dog who was obviously well loved.

We didn't have many pics of Tess unfortunately. Most of the pics we have were from a 35mm camera before I went digital so only in print form.

Oh i'm so sorry.....its so hard to lose one that you love. anyway, heres a poem , maybe you'll feel a tad better.

Well, I gave it to them on xmas day and they loved it. Caz cried and our Matt was too dumbstruck to really be able to do much. Blokes are always awkward when it comes to emotions, lol.
Best part of xmas anyway. It now has pride of place on their living room wall.

Really lovely, it brings herself out clearly.. I'm sorry about she had to pass away, but now she can relax and whenever she wants, she can chase cloud-sheeps.. ; )

The best thing about xmas now that I'm grown up is seeing peoples faces when they open presents from me that I put a lot of thought or effort into. I'm really looking forward to seeing my brother and his GF open this.
