I absolutely love this piece! The way you illustrated the fur is so delicate and amazing. It's similar to realism with how the pattern of the fur is by how you used the black to explain both shadow/dimension and color.

Stunning work, love the way the warm colourscheme seems to contrast with the wolf's curled posture and the title, and the way you've drawn the waves in the fur is just gorgeous, it gives a realistic impression of the volume of the fur whilst still maintaining this beautiful style. <3
The eyes are interesting indeed, it's subtle but somehow enhances the piece and adds more interest. ^^

Still, I don't know why everyone seems to hate GIMP so much and thinks it sucks. Personally I hate SAI and after trying it went back, and I've only ever used GIMP before and since.
Now, my art is NOWHERE NEAR as good as this (I sorta suck to be honest), but GIMP isn't that bad... :'D At least I don't find it to be so.
I just use GIMP, and pretty much only use the standard paintbrush tool too without using textures like this *aside from very occasionally using them*, I think more people should give GIMP a chance... 
That said, I haven't gotten even within a few thousand lightyears of as good as CanisAlbus, and I never will - but that's not because of the program's limitations holding me back, it's just my own personal lack of skill or talent. :'D Can't blame GIMP for that.
(also, damn, I use blue far too often... gotta try to use other colours more...)
Sorry for randomly butting into this conversation, feel free to ignore me, delete this comment, or reach for the giant fly-swatter. (I just rather like GIMP and I hear people bashing it all the time...)

Hmm, I did feel a bit bad about jumping on your comment like that afterwards, my brain had kind of fallen out this morning after virtually no sleep and when I woke up a bit more later I sort of regretted that. :'D No offense was meant though at the time, I think it was more just that earlier when I saw this, my brain kinda went "oh look, another person slating GIMP again and claiming it's awful or impossible to use..." and I went on commenting autopilot.
And I understand there - other opinions are fine so long as they aren't condoning/promoting abuse or hatred, I think...
