I don't suppose you remember Emil, the viking lord? A Karelian bear dog cross with wolf blood in his veins from his father's side and Finnish roots. His leg was broken severely once, but such an old battle scar hardly slows him down.Eee something in this piece kind of reminds me of some other artist's work or style, but I can't remember which or whose. Or maybe it's only reminiscing some older artwork of mine, eh.
Just when you thought I was done with ornamental halos...

PS. Hhh I'm somehow being productive at the moment, but with completely wrong things! Bear with me, people whom I owe art to, I haven't forgotten you and you'll get what's rightfully yours sooner or later!
PPS. I'm struggling to find inspiration music for my Nordic themed pieces, so if you know any good Scandinavian bands/folk metal/viking metal/traditional Nordic music etc. please feel free to recommend me some! In this case, the more traditional it is, the better. Sadly I can't be bothered to listen to anything that is sung entirely by growling, grunting or screaming, so keep such songs and bands in minimum~

Nordic viking styled folkish music? WELL....! That's my favourite style of music. I will link you stuff I listen. There you may hopefully find something interesting. Everything in my list isn't viking styled northern music but it all is at least on some levels folkish.
Týr, Ensiferum, Faun, Qntal, Blackmore's Night, Abney park, Haggard, and some songs of Saltatio Mortis. There are others too, but these are my favourites, lol.

I adore your ornamental halos so I will continue to welcome them. I'd love to try to incorporate the idea into some art of my own at one point but am kept busy by commissions and have such little time to go off and experiment with art of my own. Maybe one day...

I truly wish you'll find time for creating more personal art in the future, it's always twice as interesting to see artists being able to draw whatever they want~

I don't know if you'd like it but "Wortsatia" makes quite nice "Nordic" music, very much down to the roots. Their actual album is a mixture between old Danish, French and English music with a focus on Frisian songs. They sadly have very little online presence, but you can find a few songs via youtube and the likes.

Oh, I actually made a journal on some music suggestions recently. "Suomilumme" sounds like it could fit what you're looking for. Not an actual band, but some youtubers who upload some Finnish folk music played on the kantele.

Ooo, Emil! When I first saw the sketch for this guy, I loved him. What an awesome scar he has too. Really unique.

To be honest, it's hard to forget a character of yours. They're so distinctive to me.

Anything by Gåte is great, they're Norwegian. Kaizers Orchestra doesn't have that viking feel really, but they do have a very unique, almost industrial style, they're also Norwegian.

Awesome! Oh, and I have been meaning to ask you: What scanner do you use? I have tried so many times to upload my sketches with mine, and no matter how I scan it just looks awful - the quality, and it also just isn't big enough, which I'm sure is part of the problem, because I get those scan marks of grey from where the light didn't hit it properly.
