Description My attempt at canon Snape

Hmmm....I'm thinking I might have a go at the rest of the staff as well!

I've just done the same (disappeared for a while that is) - real life catches up sometimes hey!

Thank you for all your lovely comments too! And for the congrats. on passing German - it was touch and go for a bit - and I have my fingers crossed that I really truly have passed (I added up my scores and I think I'm OK) - results don't officially come out until the end of November!

Interesting take on Snape. I think you did a good job of his hair and his facial scructure.. but I think maybe the shadows are to strong on the lower half of his face.. It give the illusion of 5 oclock shadow or scruff.. which reminds me more of Sirius then Severus. I love what you did with the green against the grey though to symbolize Slytherin and help him stand out against the gorgeous background as a subject that is not as aethestically "beautiful" as his surroundings.

Hey there! Thanks for the comments Heh - I actually did intend for him to have a 5 oclock shadow (so I'm glad it worked!!) - but I can see how you'd associate that more with post-Azkaban Sirius than with Snape

I'm glad you liked the green, ornate backround too - it just seems natural to have green somewhere when drawing Snape - or indeed any Slytherin!! The books build such strong associations between houses and their colours!

(Typical though - I've been trying to draw decent drow for YEARS and here it happens when I draw a Snape )

Heh - thanks! Much as I love the various versions of fanon Snape - it was pretty fun to draw him as close to canon Snape as I could manage!

Having done a semi-canon Snape now...I think I like drawing fanon Snape better.... Preferably in a compromising situation with Lupin, Black, Potter or either of (or both of) the Malfoys
