Description
There once was a strange, strange creature. He stood about 8 feet tall on his hind legs and had the head of a deer only his muzzle was full of razor sharp teeth, glowing yellow eyes and instead of having antlers, he had a single unicorn horn on his head. His body was even stranger, being that of a muscular blue bipedal tiger with retractable claws as long as steak knife blades. In place of a tail, he has a white, thornless rose that was still a bud and currently unbloomed. Even more bizarre, the creature had human intelligence and was capable of coherent speech despite his long snout full of sharp fangs.I was walking through the autumn woods, the sound of autumn leaves crunching under my feet as I was about to discover this magnificent beast. I heard the most pathetic sounding cries coming from a nearby stream and set off to investigate. Peering through some bushes, I noticed him sitting by a stream, staring at his reflection in the water.
Rivers of large tears streamed down his muzzle and dripped off the tip of his snout like it was a leaky tap, plopping into the crystal clear water below him and rippling his reflection. Sobs and whimpers shook the body of the massive, hulking beast as he wallowed in his own friendless misery. Carefully, I took a step forward and his ears perked up. Immediately, he stopped crying and shrunk back in terror, staring at me with fear in his eyes, "P-please don't scream or point a gun at me!"
"It's all right, I'm not here to hurt you." I replied, crouching down on the ground to appear non-threatening.
"So then why are you here?" He asked in a panicked voice, wiping his tears from his muzzle with his massive paws rather adorably.
"I was walking when I heard crying and came to investigate." I replied, "That's when I found you."
"Are you here to make fun of me?" The beast whimpered as more tears formed along the edges of his eyelids.
"Of course not. My name is Kurt." I replied, "I've heard rumors about a monster in these woods but to be honest, I think you're pretty adorable now that I actually see you."
"Oh." He sniffed, "My name is Vicente.......no one's ever called me cute before."
There was a long silence between the two of us before I spoke up, "Um.........you okay?"
Vicente felt warm, salty tears run down his snout and collect along the rims of his nostrils as he shyly stared at the forest floor, "Everyone thinks I'm a monster so they deliberately avoid me....."
I stepped forward and patted the strange beast on his cheek, "I know what it's like to be seen weird as well." Leaning forward, I licked Vicente's tears directly off his nose with my tongue before they could fall to the crisp autumn leaves below.
"How so?" Vicente replied meekly, pulling back a little with an adorable blush. He clearly wasn't used to being touched like that.
"I was born with a developmental disability called Asperger's Syndrome." I explained, continuing to pet Vicente, "I'm often pretty socially awkward and deal with obsessions a lot. I was put in special education classes throughout school because I apparently couldn't fit in with the so-called normal kids. Sometimes, I'd get caught up in my own world and my temper would get the better of me. Also, I'm a furry so people in general find me pretty strange. So what's your story? Are you an alien or cryptid? Just what exactly are you?"
"I'm an imaginary creature." Vicente replied, "I know it sounds cheesy and all, but I was brought to life by the wish of my dying creator. You see, Timothy intended on naming me Vincent but he had dyslexia so he just started calling me Vicente instead because it sounded more unique. Timothy didn't have cancer. In fact, he was a very healthy kid until one day, the bullies went too far......" Vincente let out a whimper as a hot tear rolled down his face, "Oh Kurt, I just miss him so much."
Unsure what to say, I once again leaned in close and tenderly wiped the tear off the beast's face with my thumb before I rubbed the backs of his ears. Vicente simply let out an adorable whine and licked me in understanding for my lack of social skills. After the massive beast sadly nuzzled my face for a bit, a sudden rustling in the bushes was heard. Instantly, Vicente's ears perked up and a snarl formed on his face as he bared his razor sharp teeth. His horn slowly began to glow red and crackle with what appeared to be red elecricity. This complete change in attitude caught me off guard but then again, so did the black bear leaping out of the bushes at me.
In an instant, red lightning shot out of Vicente's horn and struck the bear in the chest, burning him. Growling in pain, the bear instantly ran away and I just stared speechlessly at what I just saw.
Suddenly, a large drop of water fell and splashed me on the head. I then looked up and noticed huge drops of tears rolling down Vincente's muzzle from his sad yellow eyes, "Um.......you okay?" I asked out of confusion.
Sniffling, Vicente rubbed his sore eyes with his paws and looked down at me, "Y.......you must be pretty scared of me now, knowing I can do something like that....."
"Scared?" I laughed, "Dude, that was awesome! You're a hero."
"Really? You think so?" The beast asked tearfully.
"Lean in close so I can hug you, you overgrown cinnamon roll, you!" I chuckled. Vicente leaned in close and I licked a few of his tears from his long muzzle and planted a kiss on his snout before hugging his face and resting my head on his muzzle, "There's no need to cry, Vicente. You just saved my life back there."
"I just wish you didn't have to see me in such an angry state." Vicente replied meekly as he nuzzled me gently.
"You did what you had to do." I replied as I rubbed my hand up and down the length of his snout, "Everyone gets mad sometimes. Especially me, considering I'm on the autism spectrum and all."
"Kurt......" Vincente whimpered softly as he wandered over to a nearby log and sat on it, "I......I think I need some cuddles."
"Sure thing." I replied and with that, I crawled into Vicente's lap and rested my head on his furry chest. The beast's fur was warmer and softer than I could have ever imagined as I snuggled close to him. As I cuddled with him, his tail begin wagging like a dog's and the flower bloomed on the end of it, letting out a sweet, minty fragrance. I took a deep breath and the scent of the flower relaxed me as I gently fell asleep in the hulking monster's warm, furry embrace. The end.
