Maybe you should go for not maximum saturated colors and make the trees more plastical. You made the dragon look plastical already by the shading.

You know, I've seen a lot of art with Temeraire and I've heard its a book of some sort, is it kind of like Eragon? Sorry, totally clueless here.

It is the age when Napoleon lived. They are fighting in the war between Great Brittany and France, not only on the sea and on land, but also in the air, with dragons. The story center the dragon Temeraire and his captain Laurence. In Eragon there are very few dragons and the world is totoally other, with magic, elves and such. In the Temeraire books there are no magic. It is simply the world like we know it, but with intelligent dragons.

WHOA! this is something new. the main thing in the picture is the thing without the color, and everything else is colorful. Interesting way of making the dragon stand out.
