Hello!I have the great pleasure to present you my first visual style for Windows 7, Pastelia!
What then with this visual style?
Having searched for visual styles around the web, I found that most of them were similar to each other, mainly with an close aspect to the famous Mac OS X interface, or accentuating the transparencies effects of Aero.
However, to date, there isn't any themes for Windows 7 offering an alternative, a different vision of the appearance of this operating system...
This theme, with pastel colors, pink, yellow and light gray, is specifically designed for people seeking a clean workspace, with sweet and soft colors.
A style for every taste, for making you feel always more cheerful... : )

Oh! This visual style is only compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 RTM (build 7600) 32-bit version, compatibility with the 64-bit version and Windows 7 SP1 (build 7601) isn't tested.
It doesn't work on Windows Vista, Windows XP and with Windows 7 RC (build 7100)!

I basically signed up to DeviantArt just to write this. I've searched for Windows 7 themes here so many times over the years. For me, nothing I've found comes close to Pastelia. This is because almost every other Win7 theme I've seen on DA seemed to be locked into the same artistic pattern. If they were complete themes to begin with, they tended to look like Aero anyway. If they didn't look like Aero, then they looked like OS X. If in the rare instance that they didn't actually look much like an operating system, then the primary color was dark. And if that still wasn't the case, then it usually looked like Aero again. I know that these things are all a personal and artistic choice. But for me, Cappippuni here was among the only ones, if not the only one, who made a choice squarely outside the master plan, and he did it with great taste. Now, why do I have such specific and possibly unreasonable requirements for a Windows 7 theme?
I'm not an artist. But the artists on DA are. Everyone has seen Aero. It's a good theme, but rather generic and uninteresting. Yet M$ has made it much more difficult to create a Win7 theme than, say, WinXP. So a lot of people give up on Win7 when it comes to drastically changing every last tidbit of its appearance. They rely on subtle changes which don't alter the essence of Aero's appearance. But Cappippuni has finally done it. And in doing so, he has not only created a gorgeous theme, which I am very grateful for already, but in the process of creating, made Win7 exhibit a certain kind of organicism that wasn't there before. A heart is beating that was previously thought to be ice cold, totalitarian, unwilling to accept any change. Now, with this theme, I know that Windows 7 can be made to look like a true work of art, and to function like the blank, completely paintable canvas which true artists crave. Win7 no longer has to look like Win7, or an operating system for that matter. It can breathe and live on the current of extraordinary creativity and artistry that flows from artists like Cappippuni. Of course I must not neglect the fact that there are some awesome looking dark themes out there which don't look like an operating system. But for me, Pastelia is the only theme I will ever use besides the default Win7 (and Win8.1 now) theme, for the simple reason that I am infatuated with colors which are happy and optimistic.
I hope that some day, our computers will look like whatever we wish them to look like. For me, that means not looking like a computer. I'm a forest bunny. I'm imagining leaves hanging from branches in the top right corner of every window with raggedly drawn symbols to denote their function. I imagine the start button taking root and sprouting into a glorious oak tree over the start menu. I imagine untidy roots hanging down over titlebars and vines creeping up scroll bars. I imagine rivers flowing when copying files, and flowers blossoming in folder panes. I imagine eating a mushroom when I move to the right end of the start bar, causing all the windows on the screen to magically disappear. I imagine bunnies frolicking with butterflies and deer and foxes and birds all over the screen. Of course, that will most likely remain a distant dream. But Pastelia is a tangible reality, and I will gladly accept it.

p.s. Glitch? Invisible selection box in file explorers upon regaining focus. In the default Win7 theme, a dotted outline shows which file is initially selected. Unfortunately, I use this feature a lot...

This is my favorite theme. It's pink, but it's not that screaming hot pink that burns your eyes. The font is small and tasteful and makes me wonder if the creator has a background in web design. The one thing I would change on it would be the yellow up / down arrows and the X. I prefer just a bit simpler than that, like the ones on the Shine visual style, but Shines start menu just isn't as this one is. It's the one thing preventing me from giving it 5 pure stars. Instead of a heart, I'm using this as the start orb but to each their own!

Unfortunately this theme isn't compatible with Windows 10 as it was designed for Windows 7 (same apply for all themes designed for any specific Windows versions). ^-^

hey i followed the instructions, copied the fied to Themes, then download the Universal patcher thing , but they dont specify what to do next, copy it too somewhere

It is not possible unless if you have Windows Style Builder and know how to modify the settings in the .msstyle file.

I think I never commented, but I've been using this as my theme since 2012 (or so), I really, really love it, so I wanted to thank you for creating it and sharing it.
I'll probably change to windows 10 soon and I wonder if this theme will work (I hope so)

It might be worth mentioning in your instructions that the theme will only work if you go through and delete the language preferences you don't need, thus eliminating a few folders that are disabling it from working. I had to restart my computer 3 times because I thought it was the patcher's fault but it turns out Windows just couldn't cope with the language options D:
Also I tried the link for the patcher and none of them were active, but this Softonic download is exactly the same and works fine~

Ah this is super cute!! Is there any way to make it work for windows 8? Theres barely any nice pastel themes for windows, and yours is the best I've seen but it isn't compatible with win 8 haha.

Visual styles/themes works with any languages, don't worry.

Hmm no, I didn't know this site but now I don't really care about this old theme (and this theme only). I can tolerate that if the original .zip archive isn't modified, I just don't allow if repackaged/modified or uploaded by someone else on dA.
