makes me wonder. is it the figure that doesn't belong here, or the rest of the piece? the figure, seemingly lost in sadness, gives the feeling of being out of place, not liking the situation it's in. but the chaos, pushing, pulling, putting tension in all the wrong places, is a kind of metaphysical thing... mybe it's not actually the wrong environment, but the right one percieved wrongly.
I like the style, I think it's one of your best pieces. possibly the mass of sharp, scratchy lines in the top left could be ballanced by a similar mass in the bottom right. it may give the imamge a more even feel.

I think what I was trying to get at was that I believe loneliness isn't due to lack of companionship, it's due to looking in the wrong places for that companionship.

i havent been around to comment on anything lately, but damn, i couldnt resist this one. ^_^ i love the effect of the white on black. and the way you varied the shape of the swirls give it a real sense of depth. i really like this one a lot.
