I was playing with perspective here. I'm still shit with backgrounds. I used the watercolor brush for the background colors and the couch and pillow.I'm going to try not using the pencil brushes for the character lines for a while and see how that does.
I wanted to draw something fun and light after the past few depressing entries.
Yes, they sit together on the couch like that all the time. Quentin likes to have his feet up since his legs will start turning red at the end of the day if he doesn't. I read that a lot of people with internal spinal braces experience this.
That, and it's really cute to draw them like that :3

Well, it's not exactly 'fan art'. These early comics and drawings were practice to see if I could get the characters, tone, and pacing right. These are from back in 2012 or so.

I started writing the story back in 2009. It actually evolved from an even older story (began writing that one in 2005 or so?) that has since become "Union", a significantly shorter and more focused story which I plan to bring to life someday.
I'm a slow writer, to say the least. I'm kinda a perfectionist when it comes to actually putting out my content and if it wasn't for Viky here bouncing my ideas back and helping me polish them I would probably be even slower.

well dude, slow writer or not, these characters have so much depth to them! It's hard to believe that they are not based on real people! You write and describe things so well I feel like im becoming the people as im reading it...really getting inside there heads and feeling all the emotions they're going through....

Well, they are all *technically* inspired by real people, though it's more along the lines of if I get stuck on concidering what (character's name) would do in a situtation, I think about (person of similar personality's name) would do.Β
Quen = Me if I was cis and had hardened ten years earlier
Corelle = Me as a teenager if I had different obsessions
Viktor = My fiance if he had grown up in a very different situation
Rex = A combination of my dad and a friend I had in college (both large athletic men)
Axel = My ex husband minus the crippling mood swings
The rest of the cast are less defined, but then again they don't really have to be.Β

Quentin is 5'10 (177 cm). He looks much shorter than he actually is here, but that's just because Rex is 6'7 (200 cm).
I'll be making a height chart soon.
I used to hang out with two guys who were almost this tall. It's a surreal feeling.
