Some folks back east did do that. I've seen pics of it on the web, though they understandable kept their exact address private. That would be so cool!

That's awesome that you got to work for the Mouse. How was it? I hear the company it's self is not a very sensitive employer. My wife and I have thought about retire in in CA just to work at the park. We're up here in Oregon with the rain and trees.

Dunno how it is now. Back then, it was "you are being paid minimum wage, but you should be grateful we're Allowing you to work here." If you can get past that, the odd hours, and working holidays, it's great. They used to have fam night every coupla years, where you and your fam came in after hours and went in the rides , in some cases with the lights up. and in others you could walk it, like the Mansion. At that time, the Mansion was actually scarier behind the scenes, as the access corridors were all painted white and none of the damned doors were labelled. 3 turns and you were sunk unless you had a mansion castmember with you. Dunno if things have been changed, the halls painted and doors properly labelled, but it was a riot back then...

That must have been cool to see, the rides with the lights on I mean. I've only experienced them as a normal guest, though I did once get to see Space Mountain with the lights on and never lifted my arms up on the ride again! Sadly, I hear working for Disney is getting even worse to work for, such as that they are toying with the idea of permanently canceling the "employee family" nights to match WDW.

Greed and overexpansion are among the factors that have put working for the parks, and the parks themselves, in a downward spiral. I love the parks dearly, and it kinda hurts that those in charge do not.

I can agree with that, just being a regular visitor. The parks are expanding big, and the visuals are all still there, but it's like the bad management is slowly eating away at the soul of it all. However, every time I visit I meet CMs that still have their heart in the right place and it reminds me that regardless of the thoughtless people in the world (or in Disney for this matter) we can keep it in the right "energy field" with the folks that still care.

Thanks! The Gimp is a freeshare version of Photoshop created by some folks at Berkley.
