nice shot!

here's a couple I took in 1970 with my first single lens reflex camera. Kodachrome slide film stands the test of time. I scanned in these 37 year old slides just last month. the colors were gorgeous and crisp, as if I'd just taken the shots.

eh forget it. I've made up my mind. No matter how high, I'm doing it. I dont care if I get nervous, I wanna experiance the thrill and see how they lived. I'll let you know how it was when I come back.

Please, some reassuring words. I read the previous posts about how horrible the heights were, and I'm getting nervous. Anyone who has already been to Mesa Verde and has climbed the ladders, please let me know how it is. Does it really feel like a huge, vertical ladder thousands of feet up on a cliff?

I am going here in a few days, and my dad and sister want to climb to the balcony house. I'm very afraid of heights however, but I dont want to hold them back. For those of you have already experianced the long ladders you have to climb, is it really that bad? Can I make it through even though I'll be shaking as I climb up? I'm getting nervous about the heights, but I'm excited to see the dwellings at the same time. I hope I dont freak out once I see the tall ladder I have to climb.

Amazing that people could build a village into the rock with very few tools.

I went to the one by the museum cause it was the free one. That one looked cool too though. I'm a little afraid of heights too! This wasnt as scary as the Grand Canyon though.

it wasn't so bad going down, but getting back out of there as terrifying! you had to like scale the side of a cliff using hand and foot holds. i was 12, i don't think i could do it now, my fear of heights has gotten way worse.

woah that's pretty intense! I'm imagining being a little kid, looking down and seeing your mom climbing behind you and then a several hundred foot drop-off.
