Decided to do a portrait for my favorite Dark Mage. Based off her Awakening portrait.I'm learning to do pixel art in Photoshop. I much prefer MS Paint, but it'll do.

And you're starting to sprite in Photoshop? That's what I use. I don't know what all you know about it, but I can say one thing:
Layers are your friend.

Oh yah, having layers beats filling my page with copies. Plus its a ton easier to adjust colors or looking over a reference. I'm still used to MS Paint, but I might seriously consider switching over.

If anything, switch for the layers! Best thing for images ever!
It's particularly useful for hair shading, I find. You can give each shading part its own layer, apply a mask so it's easy to edit, and there you go! They're also great for making portraits' blink/talk frames.

Thanks bud. The reason I'm using Photoshop is that my main computer is getting fixed, and all I have is my macbook from school to work on anything. Waiting to get my computer back was driving me nuts, so I decided to learn.
