Why you write in french "Les princesses de Disney" ?

The style I sketched them in is reminiscent of a style of French caricature. I guess I added it as an ode to that, haha! Besides that, there was no real significance.

Haha, I included her in honor of Disney now owning the Star Wars franchise. Even if they didn't create her, she's part of the family, now! Also, I just really wanted an excuse to draw her. <3

Yeah but not everyone is satisfied with Disney owning Star Wars (this thing has actually become a fandom-debate. I personally don't think Disney should have Star Wars).
Also, Leia is so much more than a princess. She's more recognized as a freedom fighter and a war-hero (not to mention that she has actually killed thousands of enemies and even strangled Jabba the Hutt to death in revenge because he made her his trophy and stripped off her clothes to become his eye-candy).
So I'm not entirely sure if she should be considered a part of the Disney princess merchandise franchise since she is so different from the Disney princesses.
Of course, you can draw whatever you want. I just found it weird why a Star Wars character was there (Also, Disney is not going to make the new movies, Disney is merely going to fund LucasFilm).

I understand. And she's not an animated princess, either. Honestly, she's in there because I love her, and I wanted an excuse to draw her profile. If I hadn't lost steam making it, I would have put Nala, Jane, Kida, Alice, Meg, and Vanellope as well (and I probably will put them in another lineup at some point, along with a few other lady heroines). It's just my preference, it's not for the Disney merch line or anything, haha. c:
I love that Disney owns Star Wars and LucasFilm, now. I'm excited to see some new life breathed into the universe! <3 Those last three movies left such an awful taste in my mouth, I'm ready for a spectacular continuation.
Thanks for the feedback! I like seeing the opinions of others on the whole debate. My putting Leia in there has certainly ruffled some feathers, hah!

Yeah but Star Wars had already written what happens after the movies, and before. I'm actually terrified of what will happen. I just think Disney is too big for Star Wars since Disney is now a multi-national corporation that puts more effort in merchandise and making money. I kind of miss the old Disney, when Walt Disney was still alive. He cared about artistic works and wanted families to bond and have a good time, he cared less about money, he wanted to be inspirational.
Sadly, the majority of Star Wars fans (including me) are now terrified of what will happen to their beloved franchise since Disney demolished their beloved Expanded Universe in order to make room for three Hollywood-formulated movies. The main reason why the prequels were less successful than the originals is because LucasFilm had become too big, it wanted to make money out of the films rather than being inspirational (Though I admit that Episode III was okay, it was tolerable at least). Now, with LucasFilm being funded by even bigger corporation, the chances of success are smaller since they don't have to put as much effort in the story (J.J Abrams is also known for putting too much effort in visual effects and CGI).
If only Disney would start making films from their own minds again. Like Walt Disney used to do (Though many criticized him at the time. Charlie Chaplin criticized him for showing male dominance and monarchist absolutism in his films and J.R.R. Tolkien criticized him for damaging the reputations of European fairy tales. But hey, no film can be absolutely perfect, right? ). But don't take this the wrong way, Disney is a part of my childhood. I'm just saying that maybe it's time for Disney to reorganize, it's time to make something other than just sequels and same movie formula over and over again. If I were Disney's chairman of the board, I would say that it's time to make something new, something fresh, roll the dices and take more chances. THAT, my friend, is what art is about. Not to do something others want you to do, but do something which your heart tells you

Haha, I certainly agree with many of the points you make. I'm still going to hope and pray for some good Star Wars films to come out. I was reading an interview that talked about how they really want to explore the universe that Lucas created. Did you see the Star Wars Rebels show that aired on Friday? I was actually really entertained by it. I like that they're creating characters apart from the main cast of the films.
One thing that Walt Disney really held onto was giving movie-goers a happy ending (which was why he changed so many of the fairy tales. His theory was that people came to the movies to escape the drudges and pessimism of everyday life. If a story didn't have a happy ending, it wasn't worth it to him!). I hope that no matter what direction Disney takes, it still keeps that idea.
Walt also was a man of progress. I would love to see Disney use those innovative new techniques for film (like what they did with Paperman) and produce an excellent story with them! Take a chance, Disney!!
Thank you so much for the compliment! When I make art, I like to strive to make pieces that bring a smile to people's faces. If I'm not glorifying Jesus with my art, I shouldn't be drawing!

One of my favorite parts about Frozen was that they did just that. Yes there was romance, but it was secondary to the fact that "love" doesn't always come in the form of "romance". It was refreshing to explore the unconditional sisterly love that exists. And the idea of self-sacrifice was so prominent-- you definitely don't see that in films often!
People look at the Princess films and only think that the princess got a happy ending because she married a prince. There's so much more to them!! Take Cinderella for example. This girl was raised in a hostile environment, yet still stayed kind to her enemies. She did what was asked of her without complaining or arguing. When the opportunity arose for her to have a night off and go to a ball, she took it without any expectations. It was made possible for her to get out because others repaid the kindness that she had showed them (And someone--the fairy godmother-- had been watching her kindness blossom and wanted to reward her for it). It just so happened that she fell in love while she was out. When she returned to her own life, she was content with getting back to what life had dealt her, but for her happy ending she was taken out of that hostile environment to live a life of freedom.
I could probably go through all the princesses, but that is an essay for another time, haha.
Really, in the past 30 films Disney has made, there have only been three princess films. And in all three, the girls don't marry a prince. :3

I adored that the true love that saves Anna is the love of her sister, not of a man that she impulsively lusted after or even of the other man that she was starting to care exponentially about. The writers do such a terrific job at showing the caring, agape love that the main characters have for each other by the climax. Yes, it will turn romantic for Anna and Kristoff, but it isn't rushed into that, really. It looks like they'll actually get to know each other before marriage, hooray! Haha.
I totally get why some people don't like the film, but it was very entertaining, despite its faults *coughtrollscenescough*. The message of agape love through self sacrifice is so refreshing to see in a kid's film! Honestly, there's nothing wrong with romantic love either; it was just a nice change of pace for the romance to be secondary in a princess film.
Also I will say that in film-making, it's difficult to time lapse characters falling in love over several years (though it is not impossible to do!). That's the reason they push for that kiss by the finale.
I liked the movie's warning against romantically/lustfully "falling in love with someone you just met" as opposed to "loving someone you just met". There's such a stark difference between the two, and it's a very biblical theme. We're called to love our neighbors as ourselves, and that includes people we just meet. Though the movie did move Anna and Kristoff in the direction of romantic love, it still started off on a better note because after they stopped bickering, there was a caring love there before the romance kicked in. I know I'm rambling now, I wish I could explain it a bit better! But you are totally entitled to your opinion. It's fun to see other sides of it!

Well, actually the message was "don't marry someone you just met". Anna fell in love with Kristoff after knowing him for a day or two. And I was sad that they deleted a character which was based on my nationality (the character was Elsa and Anna's cousin). Ironically, the time period which the movie is set in, royals were not allowed to fall in love with someone unless he/she was a noble person or a royal. So Anna would only be allowed to marry Hans unfortunately. But hey, it is a children's movie.
I think the film was semi-okay but it could have been better due to the plot-holes.

It's a shame about that character!
The film certainly had plot holes, but it was still pretty good. There is always room for improvement!
The animation was gorgeous. I love the new innovations they put together to make the clothing for the characters and the snow software. A good deal of the concept design is done by one of my favorite artists, Britteny Lee.
I think a tertiary message may have been "Don't marry someone you just met," but the primary message was certainly that "Love thaws", or "Love conquers differences", or even "Romantic love is not the only kind of love". There were so many little morals throughout the film, it's fun to pick them out! c:

Haha true!! People tend to treat love as a feeling. However, feelings are fleeting and unreliable! Love should be treated as an act and a choice. It's easy to simply say that you love someone, but words are meaningless unless you act on it. On the flip side, I could be upset with my friend for doing something, but I could still love them. When we CHOOSE to love, a world of possibilities opens up! If everyone in the world would simply love one another, as Christ stated, true peace would be achieved.

Maybe we all WANT to love one another but don't forget that fear and anger are very strong emotions. Those emotions are somewhat responsible for wars, national rivalries for centuries. Some choose reason over emotions and some choose the other way around. But people must realize that we must use both; reason/logic is what makes us willing to do what must be done, while emotion is what makes us willing to do what should be done. But of course it's natural if one loves a sibling, parent, friend, significant other, offspring and so on. But love must not be relied on too much, that would blind the individual from reason.

Yeah, unfortunately as humans, we tend to take it to the extreme and love ourselves TOO much. The greatest commandment that Jesus gave in the Bible was to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as much as you love yourself (found in Matthew 22:37-40). God knows that as humans, we are going to love ourselves. It's unavoidable! We feed ourselves, clothe ourselves, take medicine when we're sick... But His point is that while you are loving yourself, make sure you are loving others just as much. Clothe them, feed them, lay down your life for them. Christ also said in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down oneβs life for his friends." That is the ultimate symbol of love, which Christ showed us by dying on the cross for our sins. Praise God for that! <3 c:

It is possible that Sigyn was a normal Human princess before being accepted into godhood. I'm not sure but it's also possible that she was kidnapped by the Utgardians when she was only a little girl because she never mentioned her life on Earth. Possibly because she endured so much shame and humiliation from slavery that she must have forgotten most of her former Human life (though she had much knowledge of a particular place in Midgard, unusual for an Asgardian princess to know). As I told you before, Loki was a half-Jotunn in Utgard who felt sorry for Sigyn since she was sexually abused, sometimes beaten and was only seen as a trophy or a property. So he rescued her after being friends with her, married her once Odin accepted Sigyn as an Asgardian princess and goddess of loyalty and all that. Later on they had two sons together named VΓ‘li and Narfi.
Unfortunately, Narfi was cursed and transformed into a vicious wolf who devoured VΓ‘li. Thankfully, Loki's daughter Hel, the goddess of death, was able to lift the curse. But much to Loki and Sigyn's grief, Narfi lost his memories and lost his immortality and became an ordinary Human who went to Midgard. Loki's other son JΓΆrmungandr, the Midgard Sea-Serpent, recognized Narfi and never did him any harm.
Another Asgardian I read about was a Human/Jotunn woman called Skadi. She was originally a peasant in the Norwegian mountains who was visited by the gods Thor, Loki, Balder, Njordur and Bragi. Skadi had proved her worth to live among the gods as a deity and the princess of winter. There was one funny chapter which the gods had to make her laugh and Loki found the perfect way. He tied a string around his own crotch and the other end he tied to a goat's horn. Then he and the goat went into a tug of war like this, which made Skadi burst into laughter. If you'd make that sort of drawing someday it would be pretty funny
