Leaf was named after his aunt, to try and appease Thunderclan's spirits and ensure he would be loyal.

An old AU that I am updating. : let's imagine that by the time Squirrelflight and Bramblestar's impostor/Ashfur are in relationship, she's expecting kits and giving birth to them after Ash's reign ? I mean, they're a couple, for a while, before she stepped back, and cligny like Ash was, it wouldn't be surprising if they had kits. Moreover, deranged like him, I can see him wanting to have his own kits with her not for the pleasure of raising them, but to own her a little more.
So, in this AU, she had three sons : Leafpelt (formerly Emeraleyes), Thunderstrike (formerly Stoneheart) and Emberclaw. Thunder and Leaf inherited their father's sons coat, and as we know, warriors are very good at judging the physique of others, judging kit for the acts of the parents. We also seen that they judge more easily if there is physical resemblance (Bramble and Hawk have suffered more their inheritance than Tawn and Moth). So Thunder and Leaf are despised by the camp, Thunder especially since he also inherited his eyes. Ember has the ginger coat of the family of Firestar, wich allows him to suffer less discrimination.
This annoys and makes Thunder jealous, who is the one suffering the most from this situation. Unlike Bramble and Hawk, who wanted to learn more about their heritage, Thunder wants to deny it but cannot because of his Clanmates. He resents his ginger brother, which makes him bitter and cold, reinforcing his resemblance to Ash and creating distance between the brothers. Leaf, meanwhile, tries to get them to reconcile, taking responsibility for his heritage and trying to do everything possible to be a good cat. Squirrelflight, in the midle of all this, tries to reconcile her kits while avoiding thinking whith their father is. She's terrified that Thunder become like him, tired after everything she's been through and her kits don't help her forget what Ash has put her though. But nonetheless, she loves them and refuses that they pay for their father's mistakes.
