yeah mainly fish. What I meant was that they don't like Squid, Eels, Octopi and Cuttlefish. Except some Night Furies, they like Cuttlefish.

Hmm...I think i made a Idea how Scar will name Mull...
At the Chapter that comes...He get a Flashback in it that Reminds him of His fathers Death...
And I got the Idea that His Father was killed by Flying The Wrong Way to Mull...Like...Around The Forest...Idk, I just Wonder if it Suits...

hmmm... mostly moorland, with a mountainous middle... That's Mull, all right.
I wonder if it holds special meaning to the dragons because of it's volcanic composition?
...probably not. The Isles are lousy with old volcanoes.

I think that they settled there because it may be a magnetic hot spot, detectable to Night Furies in particular. Then some humans found the island, and thought it was built by the inhabitants. So they built the temples and stone circles around the place because they believed that the Night Fury was a spirit among many that protected and guarded the powerful forces on Earth and only takes it's form now and then. Turns out they were just hiding from the worshippers.
So time and time again, they built these little structures around the place as sacred sites for the Night Furies, but most of them were slowly taken back by nature. The central one is the grand temple, where they made their offerings of fish and Oregano. And some of the Night Furies were in charge of accepting these while everyone else hid from sight.
And so through this strange partnership (The Night Furies get offerings and artificial caves and the Humans don't get a huge storm) the Inhabitants of Mull decided to stay.
Well, that's my theory.

Or they could be there for the whiskey.
I wonder what would happen if a whacking great storm did come marching up the inlet? I mean, thunderstorms, dirty great high in the sky thunderstorms, with rain and with sky splitting crashes of thunder and with a stiff wind, those are spectacular (And with the sensors, how spectacular! Imagine flying through a fireworks display lighting up the entire sky in the EM field sense!)... but windstorms aren't as pleasant, and presumably the 'Furies would warn the inhabitants beforehand to batten down the hatches.

Well the worshippers are probably like the Ancient Egyptians in a sense. They worshipped for no rain, but rain still came, yet they still believed that there were gods.
Same here, and the NF's actually have the advantage to the egyptian gods because they're actually physically in front of the priests at the time. Plus, the fact that they can make blue fire just makes it more confirmed to the Humans that they're gods.
Of coarse, most of the legendary myths made up from the Humans perspective was done so when drunk.
And now and then.. Couple of Night Furies go down to the tiny village and steal a couple of barrels filled with the nectar of the vine... hehehe. Cause and effect... Night Fury party!

Ah, confirmation bias is a mystical thing indeed.
I notice a running gag seems to have developed that the Island of Mull is 10% ethanol content by volume. I blame Tobermory.
