Wow, there are so many things I love about this piece! First of all, great composition! There's such good balance in the color scheme.
There are some things that look a little bit off compared with the rest of the picture, though. The little red box seems to have a different light source and it draws a lot of attention to it. Also, the trees are the only thing that look like they don't have a tiny outline, which makes them look a little bit too separated from the rest of the picture. The rocks and water, though, flow so well with the rest!

Thank you very much for the great feedback. I have been told about the trees, so you are not the only one who thinks that. I also see what you mean about the box. I recently learned a new trick to help prevent that in the future. I appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Oddly enough, the rocks are my favorite part of this piece. So many little fun details just right there on the bank too. Nice lighting on your characters. Really love the way it hits them as if passing through the leaves.
I would, however, like to see more detailing in the trees. Although they are farther from the viewer than the foreground subjects, they aren't far enough to be simplified like this. Well maybe just a tad. Also, you could maybe add more height to them. Gotta remember that pesky "rule of thirds".

Yes, well thank you! I thought I had taken into account the rule of the thirds, not that I use all four corners, but I use some of them. I don't understand what it has to do with the trees though. I see I should maybe have spend more time on the trees and the general background. There is a lot of small things about this piece, I just end up not seeing it.
