I love all of the photos I get with Kuragiman. He and I have been doing shoots with Alucard for a couple of years now and he's definitely captured the transformations of my costume and well, I might add. This guy is one of those fun loving and down to earth photographers that you can't help but always hang around. He never misses me at a con and I don't miss him. Thanks for the awesome shots!

I'm very proud of my guns because of their proportional accuracy. Cassul is not constructed by me. There are some alterations done, as the original gun had movable slide action, but the material is cardboard, so it had a weak constitution. Yeah, I said cardboard. The gun was constructed by my good friend Andy, who knows so much about this gun that it isn't funny. The writing on it is word for word what is accepted as canon (as Hirano loves to add little cookies sometimes that change the way things are written). Anyways, the detail is amazing and when I first saw the prop I almost shit myself. As I said, the gun had a weak constitution, and after a run-in with a crazy fangirl at a con, Andy gave me the gun to fix and gave me some good advice on how to make Jackal. Cassul is now glued together (no longer movable) with some foam inside of it to help it keep it's shape. It's had many paint jobs over time and now looks very worn out. I smudged blood on some scrapes for a temporary fix, but as of today, this Cassul is probably out of commission.

The Jackal is my creation and for the lack of a better word is unsatisfactory to my standards. I had to rush it to be honest. The writing and detail work on it was done only hours before Ohayocon 2008. I broke the stock off of an airsoft gun and built a foam stock out of pink insulation foam and foam board. I was proud of my work at this point, and if I only had more time and had done more research, the gun would have probably turned out how I wanted, but at this point I was a week away from the con, and did not have much time to mess around. The stock was covered in paper-mâché and then Bondoed. That is a verb in my cosplay dictionary, by the way. Let me recommend something. Do not use Bondo is you are not practiced in its use or do not have a lot of time to fool with it. It is relatively expensive and VERY messy. You also have to work in a ventilated area (and I was doing this in a cold ass garage in December D: ). Anyways. I did the best I could to sand it down, but I accidentally covered up some of the detail work done with the foam with Bondo, so it is painted on @_@. Another piece of advice. When using Bondo or fiberglass resin, make sure you leave a lot of extra room. Paper mâché alone adds a lot of body, but Bondo and resin only add more.

Even with my dislike for Jackal, it turned out looking pretty good, so I haven't bothered with remaking it. Though at this point, if I ever cosplay Alucard again, I will definitely have to remake the guns and this time, they will be as damn near perfect as I can get them.

Alucard: Not bad, Police Girl.
Seras Victoria: I have a name. It's Seras Victoria. Not Police Girl.
Alucard: [smirks] You know that you are now and forever a child of the darkness Police Girl.

XD. My fangs are actually pretty yellow/pink. They stain VERY easily because they are vinyl.

Despite your qualms with them I always thought they were very satisfactory and still shock-inducing props! The size of them is what makes them amazing, you never really see any that are true to their actual proportions, especially when matching the cosplayer wielding them. I can't wait for your next set if you ever get around to doing them again!
