It may be part of childhood, but what they did in terms of edits was kinda strange or even stupid.
Answer: nope. It's not weird at all. I gotta admit, I discovered Kirby and the whole Sonic universe through their shows. By Not counting the olympics, Sonic generations and Lost World were the first modern Sonic games I ever played in my own consoles.
As for Kirby I though it was just a cartoon and not a game franchise. I was really likably surprised when I discovered that it was a popular franchise from Nintendo. 
But sadly no Escargoon, but at least there's Dedede!
