Description
Classic style pony made of polymer clay and painted with model paints.Additional shots can be found here .
I wanted to make an Octavia from the very beginning of my experience with polymer clay, and so greatly inspired by this sculpture by I finally decided to. Well it was a big challenge, but now I'm very satisfied with the result.
She is 120mm / 4,72inch from hoof to cello's top height. Octavia is made from Sculpey Premo and Fimo Classic, cello is made from Super Sculpey.
This piece is not for sale.

This sculpture is amazing! The paint job is fantastic especially on the cello and the use of wires looks lovely.
What did you use as a finish? It looks like a spray on varnish but I could be wrong~

I used a mat varnish for Octavia and glossy one for cello. They should have been sprayed, but I had to use brush. Anyway it came out fine.

Very cool Octavia sculpture, the level of detail is fantastic. I cant believe you actually put strings and eyelashes on her. The vinyl record being used as a base is a nice touch.
You have to tell me how you got the finish on the cello its absolutly stuning. And thanks for the shout out

Your WIPs gave me lots of ideas about this sculpture and I had a thought to make some during the process, but I have to borrow camera to make photos, so no workinprogress shots(.
But I'll try to remember colors and steps of cello paint and write you a pm tomorrow may be (couse it's already night in russia).

Well, I thought about taking some commissions, but I just graduated some days ago and now I have to move to another town and etc... So it'll be physically impossible to me to do something during all summer, I guess. So that's the story.
