Dylan decided to go swimming with the underwater potion and got stuck under the ice. This is kind of a POV from Dylan of what the world looks like frozen underwater with Infrared vision.

Dylan: He had a fun day in the water, he had splashed around with the people he was getting to know in town. When night fell he decided it was time to try going into the deeper he drank the water breathing potion to watch the fireworks. He was nervous since he had never gone too deep in the water, with the potion in effect it was interesting. Watching the fireworks was fascinating, especially from his view. The infrared lights dappled around the water's edge. He saw the colour of the water begin to turn to a purple. Was that ice? In shock, he realized he was going to be encased in it. He tried to swim up as fast as possible but didn't reach it in time. He watched as figures above the water disappeared from his vision. He started to panic, why did this stuff always happen to him. He had to take a moment to calm down. He thought he saw someone scrabbling at the ice above his head. He could do this, someone out there was worried.

He took the time to use his sight to pinpoint something or someone warm, and swam towards the source of heat. If he was lucky enough, he'd be able to utilize that as a way out. He hoped he could direct others trapped with him along the way.
