So, this was clearly made quite a while ago, but I FREAKING LOVE GISHKI!!! This is phenomenal, you did such a great job! I'm working on a Gishki Playmat myself, I can only hope it will be at least half as good as this!

Looks awesomely wicked cool. I can't wait for Hidden Arsenal 6 to come out so I can finish my Gishki deck.

heh, thanks. and yeah, same here, several of the great supporters haven't been translated. and also some of the better rituals haven't been translated yet. not sure which ones come with hidden Arsenal 6, but I want Vision Gishki , Evigishki Levianima , and Evigishki Zealgigas translated already

a good amount it seems, but not all the ones I want in Hidden Arsenal 6. I want to maintain the hand advantage, why I mainly want my Levianima for the draw effect, and Zealgigas for that 3200 beatstick as well it's draw/bounce to deck effect that's not just limited to face up cards like Soul Ogre. Vision Gishki and Forbidden Arts will be good help, and the other rituals offer some variations in Gishki strategy. but yeah, Konami has had their share of flops and laziness

well, hey there, first off, thank ya, I'm glad you like the amount of details, and nah, this actually wasn't that hard, though it certainly was trying a lot of new stuff
that most likely has nothing ot do with the pen pressures actually and more likely to do with the lowered opacity of the line art. at full opacity the pure black outline was standing out way too much, so I lowered it, but I probably lowered it too much, and the blending in is bound to happen due to shading it all on the same layers with the same colors, it may be at a low opacity, but it still makes the colors blend a bit more. thanks for the feedback, and delighted you think I'm a decent artist XD

yayayayay, delighted you think so, and nah, I can't finalize it more though I'd like to a bit, as the PSD file didn't save properly, so I can't go back and edit.
and thank ya

heh, but it was fun, and believe it or not, this actually didn't take all that long, once I got the solid colors in, I did all the shading and touch ups in a single sitting for a few hours >3<.
and thanks a lot, I think the colors turned out really interesting looking here too due to the way it was shaded >3<

holy smokes lineart of doom XD This is very impressive, for using pen pressure your lines are very consistent even at the ends of the strokes.
In any case I'd kill to see this colored.

oh my, I really appreciate that, and heh, I feel it's actually rather inconsistent, so that's very reassurring. no worries, color is on the way, no need to kill for it XD

Even though I'm not a fan of Yu gi oh I wanted to leave a comment here 'cause I know what's like to feel proud about something you do directly on a tablet. I always scan my linears so the first time I directly sketched on my tablet I felt so proud of myself!!!
I would love to see the finished version

heh, glad I'm not just crazy then XD. I was like "WHOA!!! I started and did this all on the computer!!! NO WAI!!! "
it was intimidating at first, but now I find it easier than starting on paper, it's like learning how to ride a bike at first or something, you feel super good when you can actually do it after being scared about it for a while
and same here, I can't wait to finish this

I envy you, it's still so difficult for me to draw using the tablet...
Great improvement over the sketch!

heh, don't envy me, I've had a tablet for a whole year now, and it took me that long to actually start a work solely on the computer without scanned line art
and heh, thanks a lot, the sketch was just to determine the composition and overall posing and such

Oooh. I don't play yugioh but these monsters look really neat. I can't wait to see the final version of this.
Considering how diverse sea life is, it's awesome for inspiration.

heh, thanks, I really can't wait to finish this either, I want to see it all done just as much, not because I'm rushing, but because I think it's going to turn out so nice and working on it was really much more fun than any other project on my plate at the moment, if that makes any sense.
yeah, not too many play yugioh, least no one that I know on DA. I actually did compete in tournaments for yugioh for quite a while, but there's no longer a close by tournament. the monster designs is what actually got me into yugioh when it first came out, and I've loved the diversity in designs they've done throughout the years just as much as I do pokemon, though for different reasons than pokemon XD
oh yeah, I definitely agree with that, sea life is really the best and most fun for inspiration, least I think so

Two of my online friends LOVE yugioh. I know for sure one of them played in tournaments.
Totally. I almost know as much about fish as I do pokemon. They're amazing.
