My usual routine when I first get up in the morning is to just go outside and look around me and think about the day ahead. I can highly recommend it. You never know what you might see.

I was actually quite surprised to see a halo around the crescent moon this morning. I have only ever seen them when the moon has been full or close to full, so this was a first for me. What it did allow me to do was capture it with the light of the coming dawn on the horizon. The halo is caused by the light from the moon being refracted by ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. Yeah I know the title is "Dawn Reflections" but it sounds better than "Dawn Refractions" I think.
