GOD ITS FINALLY DONE, and with 2 hours to spare (thanks honolulu)
the background and stuff is pretty obviously rushed but LKKJFLKDJ time managment? who is she.
i was originally gonna do a platformer game but unfortunately those arent allowed ): figured i wouldnt have time for anything else so picture it is! although ill definitely be making a game if i win her eheh
ok anyway STORY TIME becuase is it really a DTA entry without a terribly edgy backstory?

She grew up a pretty normal faunt, raised in an average family. cute and friendly, everyone loved her and showered her with affection. But the day of her originality trial, everything changed. it started when she went diving for the corrupted ether; it called to her in a way nothing had before, and when she went back to the queen to get it purified, she kept a little for herself, making it into a cute bracelet on her wrist. As she grew, the ether corrupted her mind in subtle ways, and she craved attention, being the best, she craved love for everyone and became obsessed. when she wasnt perfect she would lash out in anger, scaring her parents and worrying those around her. They figured it was simply a phase, and sent her away to work at an ice cream place for a few years, hoping it would mellow her out and teach her to be humble. She realised people didnt understand her, no one understood her. She needed to find more corrupted ether; in her mind it was the only way she could become ''perfect''. During her time spent working, she learned to hide her anger, much to the delight of her parents and those around her she became well adjusted and friendly. But it was all a ruse; she used this time to plot and plan, the bracelet on her wrist no longer being enough. She would adventure out in the dead of night, gathering information and any traces of ether she could find. eventually, after a year or so of working there, she ran away without a trace, her destination being the corrupted city of Blanchness.

If i win her id like to get her a caster form and maybe a cetus ally? since shed be killed on sight if she tried to enter alone. i imagine she would have initially tried and maybe lost her eye afterwards and fled. i wanna do a whole story for her involving this, the madness coming from overexposure to ether is something i think is pretty interesting!

also as far as the image, its kinda rushed bg wise but i tried to put a bit of symbolism and stuff in there? so its not very literal. you can see two parts of her childhood reflected in the bubbles; when she first saw corrupted ether and when she was working in the icecream store, vs where she is now. i dont think faunts hair can actually float apart per se but i thought it looked cool for the image. the two fish near her are also meant to be made of corrupted ether and are kind of circling her, still small for now. and the two big things above her were meant to be both corrupted/non corrupted ether and symbolise yin-yang, and how the darker side is winning and throwing off the balance in her mind. also the one eye hidden behind her hair is mad, wheras the one shown is more calm, which is symblosing dual personality and all that. and the stuff in her jar is ALSO corrupted ether im bad, at drawing liquidy stuff LMAO. gOd ive written a ton, i get kinda into this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I request that the winner not use this as its kinda personal to me, and ill definitely be reusing the concept if i dont win :'D
