Sphinx, the desert spirit. He is =BrennaRaven 's character.This picture is for the Xchange, and was initially supposed to be drawn by ~Shegoran . I have been trying to contact Shegoran since the start of november but never got a reply. Since the deadline is only three days away and I didn't want to risk someone not getting their picture, I decided to draw it myself.
So here's to you, Brenna. I'm sorry the Xchange didn't work out as it was supposed to for you, I hope this makes up for it

This is very cool. The design, the colours, the technical skill, all fantastic. The only thing I'd change is making the shadows a little stronger.
PS: I read the Resting thread on CA -- very nice stuff! It was a delight to watch the process of the picture improving.

I actualy love how the simple BG lets you photos on the character. the color combo of an icy theme with the striking warmth of golden fur is lovely.

Awww, that's so sweet of you Lhune! I don't understand why people sign up for these things if they know they're not gonna be able to finish on time...I mean, if something sudden happens and they're unable to complete it then that's understandable, but if they don't even bother to reply to any notes or contact you giving an explanation then its downright rude and completely unfair on whoever was supposed to receive the art.
Anyway, another stunning piece of work here, Lhune :> I really love the soft, delicate colours and how you haven't overdone the shading/contrast to create a cold, wintery look. The pose and the way the mane is blowing in the wind create a real sense of power and the eyes are extremely striking...the way you've done that makes me think of Aslan from Narnia, because the character looks so wise and noble.
Like you said, I think footsteps in the snow would really complete this...it would sort of enhance the sense of solitude. Other than that though, this is wonderful

Funnily enough, I did listen to Narnia soundtracks as I drew this. It really helped to set the mood and perhaps it influenced my way of drawing :3.
