I always thought dipper's hidden code really brings to light his insecurities about feeling unwanted and his desire to have an upper hand over everyone. The original text even said "I know this sounds like a super-villain manifesto but you get the gist of it." That's just funny to me.

In the first panel, you can clearly see how Soos's nervousness borders fear seeing Dipper's behavior, implying that the boy is acting far differently and much more irrationally than when he suspected Mabel's boyfriend was a zombie.
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th show Wendy being more outspoken than Soos about the apparent change in Dipper, poking at the beast and her shock in the 3rd panel when she catches of glimpse of it.
It's perfectly feasible that, with the sinister and macabre words of Dipper's certificate, that Bill would play upon this desire, bordering on obsession. Who knows, maybe it's not even Dipper in there to begin with...
