Think someday ya might do a full body of it? Would love the full coloring.

Really nice painting. I was looking for graphic reference of this genus and couldn't find any image of the fossil specimen. Can I know which reference source you used?

Β Outstanding. The climacoceras looks even more like a deer than any other ancient ancestor of the modern-day giraffe and okapi (it also has a mixture of color schemes similar to pronghorns and topi).

Does it have a longer neck or does this cut off at the shoulder?
It's interesting to see you draw these extinct animals. They're awesome, you make them seem alive again!

The antler-like ossicones would have been covered in skin.
Would you be interested in references for the other species, too?

That would be wonderful, actually... it's been very hard finding reference material on these beasties. (Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?)
Thank you so much for the feedback!

The quickest reference to show you would be in Evolving Eden: Amazon.com has the "See inside" feature for it. I have actual photographs of the two species' respective ossicones, but that would entail scanning the book they're in, Cenozoic Mammals of Africa, and and I'm in the midst of getting a new computer (as no one in the house currently has the energy to reconnect my scanner to my father's computer).
Also, if you're interested, here's some spectacular news about Prolibytherium, too
