No, it isn't hard. It just take some time and practice... And it also depends on the program you are using. The most popular is Adobe Photoshop of course but I don't use it... I find it a little complicated for beginners like myself. But that's a matter of taste. But too achive good results at digital coloring you need a decent program that works with layers.
