Your art is the best discovery I've made today. So luminous and lovely!

Does Deviantart let you delete ridiculous comments such as those from PhillipTheFool?

Aw thank you! :}

I don't know if I can delete but to be honest I don't wanna hide his stupid ass arguments, I mean everything is just so wrong and uneducated he kills his arguments himself.

and besides, what if some child would come across this?
that would mean you completely ruined his vision on this awesome trilogy, does that not trouble you?

Well, if a child (over thirteen I hope, because it's their parent's responsibility to make sure they don't register on such websites when they're not of age) were to come across this picture, I hope he would, unlike you, learn to consider that homosexuality is not wrong but a part of the world. That love knows no gender nor boundaries. He would be free to believe that homosexuality is present in Middle-Earth or believe that it's not. Free will, ever head of it maybe?

You have the right not to like what I do. You have no right to insult me for this. I didn't commit any crime, not more than you. I insulted your favorite book? You insulted me. If you think a book is more worth than a person then you should start questionning your so called "morals".

i have little value for the lives of humans, yes thats true.
i did not choose for this though.

and morals do not only mean being kind to each other and stuff, but also to stand up for what you like.
and even a thirteen year olds mind could really get messed up by just seeing that, it could destroy the vision onthe movie/book

Wow, what a troll!

Anyway, this is most likely to happen don't worry: after all Tolkien completely plagiarized the story of the Ring of the Niebelung that was first popularized by Wagner, and came from Scandinavian and German myths (that existed at least one thousand years before Tolkien), and he eventually died! So be reassured, people who don't respect original stories that are above them, like Tolkien and me, eventually die. Just like others actually.

first of all im not a troll, im just defending good morals.
and now please dont go comparing yourself to tolkien you wont come anywhere near him, not even in your dreams.
and second of all, he did not take it all the haradrim for example have nothing to do with german and scandinavian myths. same story with rhun and the shire.
and all fantasy storys have a core of the real world in them.
and what you did is just an unspeakeable abberation, but ofcourse and unfortunatly, i dont know you in person so i cannot do anything about it. so go on defile all that is good and still has dignity, and prove you are that low

Seeing as you attack people in a very violent and insulting way after being on this website for only one week and having few interactions with others, you enter the troll category. Being offended that people suggest relationships that were not in the original books proves either that you love to attack people just for the sake of it (= trolling), or that you've never heard of the internet culture before in which case you must be as old as Master Tolkien.

I have never ever compared my skills to Tolkien's, I am just saying that we're both inspired by something that was much more valuable than us. Because yes, Scandinavian mythology is part of the world's history, it has founded the bases of Scandinavian culture and marked these countries forever. Tolkien created wonderful sagas, not the bases of a society (despite your lovely fanatism) therefore, to the present days, German myths have more historical and cultural value than Tolkien's masterpieces.

Sure, he did not take it all, for the Haradrims, just like in every European based fantasy saga written from a white supremacist point of vue, Tolkien chose to create dark skinned Southern barbarians -violent black guys on elephants? Always a solution!-. Definitely not based on reality as it was perceived in these days, just like in racists sagas like Narnia and all the books written in these days for example.

What I did is an aberration? Why's that? If the fact that I suggested a Rohirrim and a Gondorian could fall in love, well, Faramir and Eowyn did it and I'm pretty certain Tolkien showed it as a good thing, not an aberration. He even proved that friendship between -white- races was important with Legolas and Gimli's reconciliation.
(However, if you think that two men in love are an aberration, I suggest the intervention of a shrink, it might be good to cure your homophobia. Hating on others is not good for you, it might cause you an ulcer from the stress you know.)

okay.
ill keep this short for i feel no need to type to you.
first im not a troll. i was just looking for an background, when i came across this shit.
i felt the need to defend the purity of lotr.
secondly, tolkien created a better world then this wretched hellhole.
the haradrim where not black at all, yes some might be but they where more like the egyptians, and those are? yes white.
and ofcourse i think love is a good thing.
between a MAN and a WOMAN.

and you sure are an open minded person i can say...

I love the pic, I really do... there's just one little question niggling at me... Didn't they both have beards in the movie? I don't know if they did in the books, didn't really say... Otherwise, this is super cute! Totally faving!

Oh, yeah... I realize I didn't explain much about this picture since uh... I've been a bit shy to express myself on the topic on Deviantart where not everybody's a slasher ! ^^" As you can guess by their attitudes, bodies and faces I made them way much younger than in the movies. I was influenced by a very slightly AU -but definitely interesting- fiction I've read where they met when they were younger and basically for this picture I wanted to draw something cute without the angst of the War. I mean, by the time of the Lord of the Rings story they are both soldiers who've suffered a lot, they are tough guys -Faramir a little less than Eomer but still-, they are dead serious if you see what I mean, almost broken men who lost a lot of loved ones. But I realize after a few months it doesn't make sense for those who aren't in my head. ^^"
