Okay, so we had to pick 2 dates in the history of our country and I chose two things: the flapper era around the 1920s, I'll explain that movie later, and my second time period thingy was the California Gold Rush which started in...1849 if I rememeber correctly.

The 1920s was where this new kind of woman emerged. Flappers were the antithesis of what women in society should've dressed and acted like. These were feminist women who danced all night at jazz clubs, protested Prohibition, drank, smoked and wore dresses with shorter hemlines, causing uproar.

Mind you, there's variations of the flapper dress, I chose the styles with fringes, and the Cloche's (hat) there cause it was especially popular around this time period...

Second time period, I wanted to do something about the history about the United States as well as my own history, the Chinese.
The Gold Rush was the first time where there was an influx of Chinese immigrants ((that's why we have so many Chinese in California, anyone?))
So, during this time was the Qing Dynasty I belive, examples of clothing ((here's a miner)) [link] And for the more traditional clothing, [link]

And yeah....those flowers are peonies seeing that everyone is more likely to recognize them as Chinese...I think. The pants were...kinda typical in China, although they had wider legs during this time. The acessesories are gold, (gold rush) and the border pattern are...Chinese coins! XD
((Though they're usually seen on boy's clothes))

And uh...yeah, flapper-style dress, cloche, long drag thingy (I'm thinking opium for whatever reason) there! 1920s!

Sorry for the long drawn-out explanation, but I think if you look at it at first, it looks more Chinese than American.... TT___TT;
