My aunt just looked through your art. She couldn't stop saying, "oh my goodness!!!" I just heard her tell my mom, "Heather's friend can really draw!!" So, she wanted me to tell you how good you are!
(also, how do you do the shading?)

Photoshop CS. (If you look into getting it, be warned though, because it's quite expensive) But just having the program doesn't automatically make you a better artist. Although, it does make your art look a lot nicer if you use it right.
Speaking from experience, art styles aren't really something that can be taught. Believe me, I am the last person you want to ask for art lessons. I know you think my stuff is great, but really I still need a lot of training myself. I've already got my Bachelor's degree in Art, but I'm planning on going on to get my Master's in Art because I need to take more classes in basic art methods. I haven't even taken an anatomy class, which really is a must for any artist.
My style is just the way I draw. Other people draw much more realistically than me. Whenever I try to draw real-life things, I fail miserably. That's why I stick to a more cartoony style. As to my coloring, shading, etc., that's just something that I've developed with a lot of trial and error. You just have to keep experimenting until you find something that suits you.
I know, I wish I could give better advice than that, but really that's about all there is to it. You have to develop your art style yourself. And you should have your own individual style. It's not fun to completely copy someone else's style (I'm not saying you's do that; I'm just saying everyone needs to create their own unique look). Now, if you do get Photoshop and have questions about how to use the tools, that I will gladly help you with.

I couldn't tell by your pictures that you haven't took an anatomy class yet. You do so well with it all. How much did the Photoshop thing cost?

um, I was trying to get yours done. I wanted to draw something with either your OC or mine, but I don't know which one to use. Which do you most want? My mind's totally screwed over right now.
