Description That night on the train
While you were sitting there writing postcards
I was coming to terms with that there are things to come to terms with.

Looking out of the window, the view was familiar,
we could have been anywhere, sodium lit streets, underpasses, city lights, bridges, factories and fly-overs all shot quickly into and out of view.  We could have been anywhere, even the moon, if they had awkward silences on the moon.

I never knew how the night could rush by endlessly. I never imagined how four hours could bleed so silently, slip by so quickly, and on a second reverse, and you, expression rehearsed as if we were strangers that were yet to meet

Drawn with the cord of beginning, crashed down in silence with an ending beat.

that's really beautiful. i really like it... especially the last line "drawn with the cord of beginning, crashed down in silence with an ending beat. " i'm not sure i get it completely, but i think i feel it. i know the feeling, i just can't put it to words... you words work quite well.

It means that I was only there because I had once had a purpose to be there, a reason. There was a beginning. And in the end of even the small things within a short life, all you are left with is an uncertain silence.
