Perhaps it's just because I have a different perspective than you. My mind tends to find connections between seemingly-unrelated things, which is where most of my creative ideas come from.

I see ^^ Well, I've got more of a mathematical mind 
or at least it takes me ages till I get any ideas, but then I come up with loads of ideas on one day and once I've drawn or wrote them all, I'm idea-less and the cycle starts over again.
