The blue orcs of the Old Mournroot Forest are a breed apart from their more aggressive kin.

They peacefully coexist with the elves of the Mournroot and have, over time, absorbed some of their neighbours' culture into their own. The orcs' rough-hewn spirit has been tempered by elvish refinement, creating an orcish society that values poetry and song as much as hunting and combat.

Every blue orc child is taught the art of the lute before the axe, and their songs are as much a part of them as their fierce spirit. Zagrian Ambergaze is no exception. His wandering feet have brought him to the City League, a confederation of bustling human cities that thrives on commerce, politics and an insatiable need for entertainment and tales of the wild places beyond their walls.

Zagrian, with his distinctive blue-grey skin, reminiscent of a winter sea, finds that he is a figure of exotic charm, even in cosmopolitan cities like Vermistad and Berenord.
