Did this on regular computer paper, because I'm too poor for fancy bristol.
Gerard Butler (the Phantom) and Emmy Rossum (Christine Daae) in the Phantom of the Opera 2004 movie. Took about a week. God, this was hard. I've never tried doing two things overlapping each other like this, so it was really complicated at first.
The scene is Music of the Night (no duh). Erik is when he was singing the words "From the garish light of day" and Christine's when he sang "Night unfurls it's splendour"
At first I did this for a Phantom contest, thinking that'll I'll probably enter a little doodle or something. But then I got this awesome idea...that evolved...and this happened. The quote there, 'Taint your soul with the Music of the Night'...I created that. And I'm proud!
By the way...I'm not completley finished with this yet. THat space between Christine and Erik is really bugging me...I don't know what to put. I want something kind of subtle so it doesn't take the attention away from everything else, but also appropriate. So if you could help me...I would greatly appreciate it.
I actually like how you don't notice the hands at first...it's like, you're looking at it, and you see the highlight on christine's face, and you think, "Well, what is that?" So your eyes follow it and then you notice it...
At school, this girl was staring at it for five minutes then she shouted out "WHOA, THERE'S HANDS ON HERE!"

The rose is a great idea! This drawing is about a year old though, so I probably won't be adding to it. But I've been seriously thinking of redoing this or something like it soon, so I'll definitely try the rose thing!

The only thing that really stands out as what might be odd is how the faces looks wider than they could be. Its a nice drawing but I think from that angle they could be thinner.

I didn't even see the hands until I full-viewed it. I saw the highlight and thought "what on earth...?"
It's quite good! Did you do that calligraphy too? The "Music of the Night" line is beautiful - my only problem is that the "taint your soul" (which is good, btw) is a tad bit small and squashed and hard to read.

Never doubt the power of computer paper dear, it'll get you through a lot. Hauntingly good, the only gripe I have is the phantom's mouth seems a little off balance, but that could just be the shading.
