Description Stetzer looked around the creepy ghost town and didn't like it. It was a dry, dusty dump getting swallowed by nature and time. The dust had a chemical taste that made him wonder if the place was safe. Yea, the town was out of the way and a good place for a swap, but that's all it had going for it.

Elishewitz sat on the car and lit up a cigarette. Nothing ever bothered Elishewitz. Stetzer swore his partner had ice water pumping through him instead of blood.

Well, guys in the snatch racket needed cool heads, Stetzer told himself. They had done pretty good since teaming up, and they had a good formula. Grabbing mistresses was pretty profitable. They would grab the girl friend and tell her sugar daddy to pay up fast; the guy paid before his wife found out. Sugar daddy got his girl back and he didn't call the cops. The wife didn't find out. Everybody walked away happy.

This snatch was different. They grabbed this foreign dame out of her posh apartment, cuffed her and drove her out to this dustpan. Stranger still, Elishewitz didn't make the usual phone call or send the usual picture and ransom demand. Worse, this beautiful dame was creepy. She didn't cry, threaten or plead when they grabbed her.

When they reached the rendezvous point, Elishewitz told Stetzer was going on. The situation got weirder.

"The feds hired us to grab her?!" Stetzer said with disbelief. "We kidnapped this broad for the G-men?"

"Something like that," Elishewitz replied. "The Special Branch hired us. You see, this lady's a spy. A Russian spy. Ain't you, Miss Dimitrov? Yea, you've been calling yourself Anna Simmons, but that ain't your real name."

The lady hadn't talked much during their trip, and what she said was in a New England accent. Suddenly, she didn't sound like she was from Boston. She smiled. That smile gave Stetzer a chill. Spooky.

"I see I have been exposed," the dame said, her accent downright sexy. "Mr. Ryan hired you to abduct me? Yes? Clever, really. I managed to form a fruitful relationship with Mr. Evans and learn about his company; he loves to talk about nuclear submarines! Yes, yes, I see your plan. My superiors in Moscow will think I fell victim to you Yankee gangsters, and not American counterintelligence."

"Yea, something like that. Easy $20,000," Elishewitz said.

"I will make it $100,000, boys," she countered coolly. "Do not sell me to Mr. Ryan; he is a cheapskate. Call Mr. Evans, tell him you have me, and he will pay you a lot of money. He is crazy for me."

Elishewitz took a long drag on his cigarette. "What you think, kid?"

"I don't like this! Something's wrong!" Stetzer complained.

"Yea. You're right, kid. That's why I drove out here, and not where Ryan wanted; I never trusted that G-man. And I think we'll do better with Evans.  You really worth a $100,000, lady?"

"Of course," Miss Dimitrov purred.

The story is great, really great, and picture is wonderful, yet this car and characters outfit does not pair with nuclear submarines. The story should be happening in sixties

I thought about that point, which is a good one, but never got around to checking. To my surprise, the first nuclear subs for the US Navy were proposed in 1939. This could mean that the concept was born even sooner. With war looming, all sides were seeking every advantage during the 30s.

thank you very much    yes i think you have a little right ... The  story was written later after I uploaded picture.  And it wasn't exactly the story I was thinking creating  picture   I was thinking rather about some kind of detective typical criminal scenario of thirties.   However most my pictures are not created as cooperation with author stories - so I usually get stories later ... and sometimes they are close to my own interpretation and sometimes not : ) However as u said story was great so I decided that can be good even for this picture

Time and place expertly created in the picture and the story. Not that I was in the US in the 1930s.

That's a good story. I know you posted it a few years ago but I'm just seeing it today. The woman in the render looks very cool and confident -- not easy to do when wearing handcuffs. The story does a good job of describing her personality and the quirky situation.

Great!   I'm wondering if those are G-men who have just nabbed a lady crime boss, or gangsters waiting to collect a ransom. The fact one of them is relaxed and seems to be smoking suggests the latter to me. I love the damsel's outfit and her cool demeanor.  I'm trying to think up a tale, perhaps.

Well m8 every interpretation is possible here this is just simple render with 3 characters without hints who is who. Well the car is ford 1936 so after prohibition all the story behind these Three is mystery and i hope you will change it 😊
