Description A cotton quilt can quiet our breathing, a cotton quilt can burn lungs. They made you smoke, to cover the dead, to make us sick, too dazed to fight the winter, to raise our weary heads. She holds them close. She keeps us safe, she keeps us warm and she keeps us near.

A cotton quilt covers me. And winters rug claims you. Sleep with me, out in the snow, beneath the stars, it doesn't matter, if you open your eyes or not, behind sleeping lids they rot, behind smoke and mirrors they stay. Regardless of our waking state, sunlight and sister stars, shall stay.

Please, stay.
