She became a member of ANBU with only 16 and was promoted to Jonin shortly thereafter. And while she is skilled with various things, including tracking and reconnaisance, the missions she excels the most are assassinations.
Since her early teens she almost exclusivly fights and later on kills with needles by using them in combination with her Byakugan and extreme precision to strike chakra/pressure points in the body (similar to the real life martial arts style Dim Mak/Touch of Death). The idea for the technique she got from her adoptive mother, who often used the same basic principle in the form of acupuncture when healing people in her profession as medic, when Aashi was still a genin and attempting to figure out what she wanted to do and learn.
Much of her early inspiration for which points to target in the body actually stem from Sonome's medical journals, before she started to experiment herself either on hersef, her teammates or, once her aim was precise enough, on enemies during missions. With all the training and studying she put into her goal on top of her natural talent, it's wasn't a surprise that she became good at was she was doing very quickly and she even was promoted to Tokubetsu Jonin on that technique alone when she was 15.
