It just donned on me, that I never submitted this piece. So I thought I would share with everyone.My first landscape done in color pencil. Kind of a landscape study. The sky and treeline done from memory. Creek reference from an Arizona photographer.

I actually saw a creek almost exactly like this one and just as beautiful in the Smokies. It was great for swimming and totally picturesque... cold and clear with not a soul around. :3

How do you make the water and rocks so realistically

Many hours of layering and blending colors. I start off with my lightest colors first, working to darkest. The bigger the piece, the longer it takes me.

I use mainly Prismacolors, but also use some colors from Derwent Coloursofts and Lyra Rembrandts.
