Nice sword. It goes well with your cosplay.

Nice, particularly that you're holding the katana and scabbard correctly for single-sword work.

Thanks! I had no idea what I was doing really, LOL. I have some training in a few different weapons, but not the katana.

As I say, it's exactly right for single-sword. The katana is a classis "hand and a half sword" which can be wielded one-handed in your lead hand holding it just above the guard, or 2-handed with your trail hand joining the lead similarly to holding a baseball bat.
You can either use a wakizashi (short sword) or tanto (dagger) in your trail hand for a 2-handed technique, or hold the scabbard pretty much as you're doing and use it for countering an opponent's blows.

Nice! Thanks for the tips! I was originally supposed to shoot at two locations with this costume, but it got unbearably hot, so we had to postpone the second location for another day. I'll definitely do my best to remember what you said for the next shoot.

Any time. One of my biggest pet peeves with Elektra cosplays (not a hint for you; IMO your face is the wrong shape) is that almost no-one ever holds their sai correctly. They will lose fingers by wrapping them round the guards!

Actually, I owe you an apology over this one. I saw a shot of Devon Aoki with different makeup and hair colour to her usual yesterday, and didn't recognise her at first, so I was obviously at least potentially wrong about the effects of shape of face on a cosplay.

She probably used contouring. There are some amazing makeup tricks to make your face look a different shape. I haven't yet mastered how to do it myself.

I don't know; it was a small pic (about 4x a DA avatar thumbnail). Anyway, the main point was to admit publically that I was mistaken.

A very accurate Cos of Psylocke. Very nice.
But it looks so hot. You must really sweat in that thing.

Thanks! Yeah, it wasn't quite that hot yet in this pic because this was taken in the very beginning of the shoot and very early in the morning. It didn't take long for it to start warming up to the point where the fabric was sticking to my skin and I came close to passing out though. We ended up only being able to shoot for two hours. It was only 90F, but with it being the Nevada desert, it felt like being on the surface of the sun and it was supposed to get in the 100s later on in the day. We chose this location because we thought the red rocks would contrast nicely with the blue color in my costume, but yeah, the heat makes you have to work fast and hope you get at least one good shot. I have more pics to come soon.
