Description

Here are a couple of species representative of the Cloud Sea biome, shown in this piece for the first time. The two species are nicknamed Cloud-Head (1) and Sailor-Shark (2).

1.Cloud-Head:
General info: An arachnid species but not a true spider, the Cloud-Head is a remarkable creature that inhabits the Cloud Sea and no other habitat. It is composed of a main body, which compresses the head and body together, and 3 pairs of unexplainably long legs that reach the ground and offer the Cloud-Head mobility. These legs would have to reach a few kilometers in length for such a feat to be possible, and given this abnormality, a few studies have been conducted by scientists of various species.
The most notable test was conducted by attempting to stop a Cloud-Head in its tracks by blocking its legs with a net. Once its legs were entangled, the Cloud-Head specimen stood in place, as the scientists were observing excitedly. The creature stood still for hours, until for a moment, when no scientist was looking directly at the legs, and its legs suddenly appeared outside the net. The specimen started walking again since its legs were freed, but the scientists couldn't explain how it got untangled so quickly, with the net being fully intact afterwards. Further studies showed that Cloud-Head's legs exist only as long as someone is directly looking or touching the creature. As outlandish as that theory seems, there were almost no other explanations for the phenomenon. The Cloud-Head only lifts its legs a few meters of the ground when moving, not enough to go past several obstacles found around them.
Cloud-Heads are mostly calm creatures, moving at a slow pace and often standing still for several hours per day. They are ambush predators, mainly interested in the birds living in the towers, but also the birds feeding off Sailor-Shark's parasites. Cloud-Heads will stand still, waiting for their prey to fly by, and then launch their barbed tongues at the prey similar to frogs, followed by injecting it with their venom using their fangs. Its small prey is almost instantly paralyzed and afterwards, consumed, Though sometimes they will carry it and preserve it inside a tower, transforming it into a "pantry". Cloud-Heads don't attack anything too large, including humans and most sentient species known so far, but it is still not advised to enrage them.

2.Sailor-Shark:
General info: An example of the megafauna present in the Cloud Sea, the Sailor-Shark is a species of filter-feeding carpet shark, similar to whale-sharks. Their diets, composed mostly of micro- and macro-organisms living inside the clouds, thankfully exclude anything bigger than a mouse, and therefore humans too. Similar to other filter-feeding animals, Sailor-Sharks have a small throat and couldn't swallow a human. Sailor-Sharks can usually reach 25 meters in length, and thanks to undiscovered circumstances, they're capable of soaring through air as if it was water. Their bladder might have modifications aiding in their movement, as well as their large sail-like fins and tails. Their eyesight is not particularly great, so they occasionally hit a tower of two while "swimming". Their massive bodies accumulate specific parasites, so Sailor-Sharks frequent areas with large bird colonies, which act as cleaning zones. The birds do not fear the Sailor-Shark and procced to feed on its external parasites.
